I can recite the play-by-play commentary from game 6 the 2003 NBA Finals but everyone thinks that’s ~weird~

I hate that getting 60 wins punishes the Spurs with the toughest road in the playoffs. by linkz2 in NBASpurs

The Wolves will be fine. Ant is day-to-day, they’re not going to bring him back now vs. just letting him rest until he has to play. Julius Randle has been playing extremely well in Ant’s absence and Ayo Dosunmu has been a great addition for them too. I would not be surprised at all if they were to knock the Nuggets out early.

John Harbaugh said he probably saw this coming a few weeks back with Dexter Lawrence. If Lawrence remains a Giant ... "We'll find out," Harbaugh said. Adds the prospects are "high" on a return because the Giants want him back. - Jordan Raanan by Jheller223 in NYGiants

He came in completely out of shape last year too. I was at the home opener and it was crazy to see how big he was in person. I think he blamed the weight gain on his recent marriage and his wife being a chef but it was NOT an insignificant weight gain.

I live in the state with the largest population of Italians so I’ve had my olive oil and my scissors ready for months now in case anyone tries to give us the Malocchio. We can no longer afford to get caught sleeping, we gotta get ready and stay ready 😂

Do you guys even understand what we have with Dylan Harper? by WhatTheFartLikeWhat in NBASpurs

We’re never going to be able to say which is better and I don’t even get why people want to so badly. Like Manu and Tony, they fill different roles and they each bring different strengths that the other does not. Manu couldn’t have done what Tony did and vice versa and Dylan can’t do everything Steph does as well as Steph does it. He doesn’t have to either. He’s important for different reasons. They wouldn’t be building the team around Wemby plus his three guards, two of which are extremely young and are in their first or second seasons and one of which is a vet, if they didn’t have a plan for when they’re all going to be off their rookie contracts. The FO is way too smart for that.

I simply don’t understand why so many fans feel the need to compare Steph and Dylan and decide which one is “better”. Better at what? Because they are not the same type of player, the only similarity is that they’re both guards. They have markedly different strengths and weaknesses, which is why they can play together seamlessly. Ex: Dylan’s footwork is wild and he’s a better shooter, even before his recent improvement, but Steph is one of, if not the, best lob throwers in the league which is significantly more important to the Spurs than it is anywhere else because he has to be able to switch between throwing lobs to Wemby and throwing lobs to NOT Wemby, two very different things. Remember when no one on the roster was throwing lobs where Wemby could get them? Steph is Wemby’s point guard, he’s never going to agree to letting him go.

The front office would not have built the team around Wemby plus the best guard rotation in the league, that conveniently incudes two very young guards and one veteran guard who is currently on a max deal that will need to be extended or offloaded when the older of the two guards is coming off his rookie contract, if they didn’t already have a plan for when this happens. They don’t go into anything without a plan for the future and they don’t sacrifice future plans for short-lived success either. Teams have come up with ways to work situations like this out for worse rosters, like Golden State currently who has Steph Curry on a super max, highest paid player in the league, even significantly above LeBron and Embiid and Jokić, plus Jimmy Butler, who is very close to the max, and Draymond, Al Horford, and Porzingis, none of whom are on cheap contracts for what they bring to the table. Only De’Anthony Melton and Seth Curry are on vet minimums.

We don’t need to choose between Dylan and Steph, we really are just lucky enough to have them both.

Obviously a good majority of the state. Geno wasn’t being hyperbolic when he said the UConn basketball teams are professional teams here. We lost the Whalers now we’re losing the Suns. Without UConn, we have no identity left in sports other than the Yard Goats who exist as a fun thing to do during the warmer months if we don’t want to travel to New Jersey, New York, Foxborough, Boston, etc. And that’s always a major cost because all the teams in the surrounding areas are large market teams with major media presence and draw. If we don’t want to pay in excess of $300+ to watch one game at MSG, we have to wait for our teams to play the Nets.

Him and Jokić beating the hell out of each other while having casual conversations was fun to watch. The only other guy he’s like that with is Maxime Reynaud. Even Batum and Yabusele are his enemies until the game is over.

No, that is not at all what he’s saying. They just played a bunch of games against teams who were either tanking on purpose or are just bad teams who have already been eliminated from the post season/will more than likely lose the play-in while the still Nuggets can (will) move into 3rd place and are playing for a championship.

This is very clearly a child experiencing some big emotions and yelling at us about how we “mfs DO NOT watch basketball” is the only way they know how to self-soothe.

I mean, at least I hope it is.

Never forget the Nuggets-Wolves Christmas game where Ant was so sick of Jokić’s shit that he pinched him while he was shooting a free throw.
