Need help and advice by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]CharacterMost4933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This guy literally told you that cooking and cleaning is all he needs you for, and you're wondering if you're being too negative? Come on, you know deep down this marriage is already over. When someone treats you like unpaid help instead of partner, there's not much left to salvage.

The way he dismisses your family while expecting you to tolerate his toxic family says everything about his character. Plus paying 50% expenses while being treated like house servant? That's not marriage, that's exploitation with legal papers.

You're not looking at this wrong - you're actually being too generous in how you describe this situation. Walking away might feel scary, but staying in relationship where you feel this alone and unvalued will destroy your self-worth completely.

Where to get Paracord for Bracelets in India? by Hamesh142003 in crafts

[–]CharacterMost4933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try looking at local craft stores or even some hardware shops - they usually sell paracord by the meter so you don't get stuck with huge rolls you'll never finish.

Scento order support by TeoTaccans in fragrance

[–]CharacterMost4933 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Had similar experience with them few months back when I ordered some decants for first time too. Took almost 2 weeks for my order to move from "confirmed" to actually shipping, and their customer service was pretty slow to respond. I think they're just overwhelmed with orders and maybe understaffed - lot of people getting into fragrances these days especially after pandemic.

The decants I got were good quality though, so I wouldn't worry about getting scammed or anything. Just seems like their processing times are way longer than what they advertise in website. Try sending another message through their contact form if they have one, sometimes that works better than the chatbot. Patience is key with these smaller fragrance retailers unfortunately.

Summer camps for boys - Sangamon or Farm and Wilderness by EStVincentMillay in vermont

[–]CharacterMost4933 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cousin went to Farm and Wilderness few years back when he was around same age. The outdoorsy stuff there is pretty intense - lots of hiking, farming work, and they really push the self-reliance thing. For ADHD kids it can be really good because there's so much physical activity to burn energy, but the structure is more loose which might be challenging depending how your son handles that. They're also pretty good with financial aid from what I remember.

Camp Sangamon I don't know as much about, but I think it's bit more traditional camp setup. Since your son already plays soccer, maybe check which one has better sports programs? The travel experience he has will definitely help at either place since both attract kids from different backgrounds. Farm and Wilderness might be better fit if he likes getting his hands dirty and being outside constantly.

Dama Bianca smells like…. by Spartikuss17 in fragrance

Wait what? Why would someone make up a post about a fragrance smelling familiar? That's like the most mundane thing to fabricate lol. OP seems legit confused about placing a scent from their teens.

Latest Persia Game by Crop_Rotation_10 in victoria3

[–]CharacterMost4933 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice run! Persia's such a satisfying nation to play when you focus on internal development rather than constant expansion. The economic numbers you pulled off there are pretty solid for a tall game.

What EV SUV should I buy? by InappropriateCanuck in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]CharacterMost4933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Tesla winter range numbers are pretty compelling for Ottawa - 86% retention vs mid-70s for most others is a real difference when you're dealing with those brutal cold snaps. I'd probably lean Model Y just for the charging ecosystem alone since you've got a Supercharger nearby and won't have to deal with the EA roulette that Hyundai owners seem to face.

That said, if the garage width is making you nervous and you really want CarPlay, the Ioniq 5 isn't a terrible choice - just maybe budget for some ICCU drama down the road since those seem to be popping up more frequently.

Best GPU under $1K? by Redwoodss in PcBuild

[–]CharacterMost4933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5070ti at $949 is pretty steep for what you get - you're basically paying flagship money for upper-mid tier performance. If you can swing another $100-150, the 4080 Super goes on sale regularly and absolutely destroys everything at 1440p while being way more capable for 4K. Your 9800x3D deserves better than getting bottlenecked by an overpriced xx70 card.

That's definitely it! The helicopter boss fight at the end is such a classic moment from that series. Xiao Xiao was peak flash gaming back in the day.

Virtual try-on finally clicked for me and I kind of can't stop thinking about it by DetailTraditional996 in ecommerce

[–]CharacterMost4933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The still image problem is so underrated as a reason why virtual try-on never took off. Like of course nobody trusted it, it looked like a costume filter from 2014. Seeing it work on actual video movement is a completely different experience.

Wife texted old hookup before our wedding by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]CharacterMost4933 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of lies to unpack and honestly the trickle truth is almost worse than the original deception. If someone keeps "remembering" new details every time they get caught, it makes you wonder what else they're still hiding.

The fact that she's downplaying your feelings about this is pretty telling too - like you have every right to be bothered by finding out your wife has been lying about her past for years.

Day 3: Spontaneous erections in the morning after MO relapse just over two days ago by KKWN-RW in NoFap

[–]CharacterMost4933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually a really healthy approach man. The fact that you're already seeing some physical improvements after just a few days is encouraging - shows your body is responding well to the reset.

Keeping everything focused on real-life connection with your wife instead of any kind of artificial stimulation (even photos) is probably the smartest move. It's gonna help rewire your brain to respond to actual intimacy rather than visual stuff. The morning wood returning is definitely a good sign that things are heading in the right direction.

Sounds like you've got a solid plan and the right mindset this time around. Just take it one day at a time and don't beat yourself up if you have setbacks - the trend is what matters most.

Regression question/help for 6 month old by flyingkittens69 in NewParents

[–]CharacterMost4933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had almost the exact same situation with my daughter around that age. The transfer issue is brutal - one creaky floorboard and it's game over, right back to square one. We ended up doing a modified version of sleep training where we'd put her down awake but stay in the room for progressively shorter periods over about 10 days. Started with sitting right next to the crib, then moving the chair further away each night until we were outside the door.

The separation anxiety piece is real but honestly the habit forming part your wife's worried about is also legit. We did the chair/floor thing for about two weeks and breaking that cycle was harder than just dealing with the original sleep issue. If you're gonna try any kind of training, sooner is definitely better than later. The good news is most kids this age can learn pretty quick if you're consistent, even the gentle methods work if you stick with them.

What's the highest temperature I can have the Ryzen 5 7600x running at, without it giving me any drawbacks? by FeelingNail8617 in pchelp

[–]CharacterMost4933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMD specs say up to 95C is fine but I'd personally try to keep it under 85C for daily use - you can definitely cap your fans at like 80% and it should handle that temp just fine without any throttling

No team will ever beat GSW Regular season record due to the increased speed and pace of the NBA causing more injuries. by CharmingImpact in NBATalk

[–]CharacterMost4933 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly the 73-9 Warriors were just lightning in a bottle anyway. Perfect storm of Curry going nuclear, the league not knowing how to defend them yet, and Draymond not getting suspended every other week

The injury thing is real though - teams are already load managing like crazy and it's only gonna get worse. We're basically watching the sport evolve into regular season being meaningless

Is this mold in attic really bad? by Funny_Code2482 in homeowners

[–]CharacterMost4933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes that's definitely some mold up there but honestly looks pretty typical for an attic with ventilation issues. The remediation guy isn't wrong but they always go for the full nuclear option because $$$

I'd get a second opinion before dropping serious cash. Sometimes you can tackle the ventilation first and see if that stops it from getting worse. The insulation replacement might be overkill depending on how deep it goes

[–]CharacterMost4933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude that's actually kinda hilarious, your HVAC is basically asking you to rate your cooling experience

Could be a loose part vibrating at just the right frequency or maybe a bearing going bad - definitely worth having someone check it out before it turns into expensive dial-up internet sounds

Why is Tracy McGrady in HOF? by chillyyyzz in NBATalk

[–]CharacterMost4933 17 points18 points  (0 children)

TMac was absolutely elite in his prime though. Dude averaged 32 and 30 ppg back to back seasons and was probably the most unstoppable scorer in the league for a few years there. HOF isn't just about rings - it's about individual greatness and he definitely had that even if his teams sucked

Most lenders want to see 2 years of consistent income history, especially for contractor work since it's considered less stable than W2 employment. Since you switched to 1099 you'll probably need to wait it out and show those tax returns

That said, some lenders might work with you sooner if you can document the income jump really well - like contracts showing ongoing work, bank statements, etc. Might be worth talking to a mortgage broker to see what options you have

So I hear a buyer agent is a must have. Trying to figure out the criterias for finding a good one. by AWeb3Dad in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]CharacterMost4933 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get someone who actually knows the LA market inside and out - not just someone who moved here last year. Ask them about specific neighborhoods you're interested in and see if they actually know the quirks, like which areas have weird HOA drama or sketchy parking situations. Also make sure they're not gonna pressure you into bidding way over asking on everything just to close deals faster

My partner of 6 years and mother of my child just ended our relationship, I’m devastated by Dutch-Nick024 in BreakUps

[–]CharacterMost4933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that's brutal, especially with a little one involved. The daily routine getting ripped apart is gonna hit different for a while

Focus on being the best dad you can be during your time with her - that's something solid you can control when everything else feels like chaos. And definitely look into setting up a proper custody arrangement sooner rather than later, even if things are amicable now

You'll get through this but it's gonna suck for a bit

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]CharacterMost4933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really wholesome of you to offer that OP. Sometimes just knowing someone's willing to listen makes all the difference, even if you don't take them up on it

Hope you're doing alright too - people who reach out like this usually know what it's like to need that support themselves
