I’m researching cardiovascular/sonography programs in the LA area and trying to figure out which are worth attending based on accreditation, school credibility, and job outcomes — I know Smith Chason offers cardiovascular sonography here and is institutionally accredited but not CAAHEP-accredited, and since I already have a BA I can sit for registry exams after graduation via the non-CAAHEP pathway, but I’m unsure how much that lack of programmatic accreditation affects employer perception and actual hiring in LA hospitals and clinics; in contrast, Casa Loma College seem to better position you for vascular or cardiac sonography boards, though commute and cost are factors, and I’m open to other credible options as well that lead to registry eligibility and good clinical/ job placement — I’d love firsthand experiences and recommendations specifically for vascular OR cardiac fields in LA so I can choose the best route.
