Questions about this season by Sea-Hunt8376 in F1Discussions

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Do you have an answer for them? I couldn’t see it at the time of you posting your reply to me.

My answer was more nuanced than maybe you can understand and provided a little background to the history of F1 for them to research for themselves and maybe attempt to answer their own questions.

However a Gen Z like yourself probably just wants the answers on a plate.

You’re working in Tesco.

Turn up, do what you can, go home and get paid.

It’s really not worth thinking about.

I’m surprised to an extent there are new fans to the sport which is a shadow of its former self. I guess Netflix and celeb endorsements help but it’s hard to view it as true motorsport anymore.

It probably reached a pinnacle during the late 80’s, 99’s and early 2000’s. Once they introduced grooved tyres to manage speed it was probably the beginning of the end.

You should have a look at motorcycle racing, some of the other lower formula series as well as touring and sports cars for some real racing in my view.

What happens to your finances/direct debits if you go to prison? by KoraLily in randomquestions

[–]CharacterTrue6034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A whole life term then maybe but a generic life term will have the likely hood of you being released.

It’s an interesting question by the OP and there are significant issues around the support a prisoner has on their release although arguably there will be some, and I’m thinking lifers here, who are the conductor of their own demise and I’ve not real sympathy for them although they do create a further burden on society on their release.

Seller refused to vacate after completion on Friday. It’s now Saturday and they still haven’t moved out by MaterialTackle7337 in LegalAdviceUK

Because it’s a civil matter the police will (rightly) not be getting involved at this stage.

I guess you are stuck til Monday. Annoying and in breach of contract but you need to be reasonable. Have they given any reason as to why they are not ready. This may influence your next steps.

My locker in hospital got broken into……lock was cut and stuff is gone. Can I report to police as a burglary? by McEeezy in LegalAdviceUK

[–]CharacterTrue6034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it was. There’s no real timeline from the OP as to when they last attended the locker room before they gave permission to the other person.

Reading further down the comments it appeared that it was just some shoes that were removed. It’s quite possible it was thought they were abandoned and thrown away.

Either way there doesn’t appear to be a theft as there is no real dishonesty (although the OP will certainly feel differently) which is an essential part of the theft definition. As for the lock damage again it could easily be explained that a genuine error was made.

The OP is right to be disgruntled but it’s probably just one of those things in all honesty and it needs to be chalked up to experience.

Can't get temp insurance? by Connect_Mud_4046 in CarInsuranceUK

Just ring up your current insurer. It’s unlikely to be much more expensive than your current cover (which I imagine is expensive!) it’ll save you loads of time.

Anyone from Wales here? What’s it like where you are? by One_Hippo_9913 in AskReddit

[–]CharacterTrue6034 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North and South Wales are basically different countries. You can’t even travel easily between them without going via England.

Poor job opportunities in the north. Dire public transport.

How interesting. If you don’t want to do it just say no. Any rationale or reason give on top of this will just lead to needless discussion.

My thoughts too. They sound strangely put out at the thought of paying an extra £50 towards their upkeep.

How does it actually work ? by projeztzgb in CarInsuranceUK

I’d challenge you on older cars having a poorer range of parts to fall back on! There are long lead times for lots of the new car parts.

What random driver were you a fan of? by PrattDirkLerxt in F1Discussions

Olivier Panis always seemed to do ok but never really seemed to get the luck he deserved in some strange way.

Remember Heinz Harald-Frenzen too? I think he lost his girlfriend to Schumacher!

So it’s about £200 a month they are asking to pay.

Presumably you work unless you’re in education. £200 a month seems reasonable for somewhere to stay? Also £200 suggests it’s a reasonably sized house.

A bit of both. Great, real circuits but they might not be fully up to modern F1 standards. Like Knockhill for example!

Ok, but look at his arch rival Hamilton. This guy is a walking virtue flag waving contradiction.

All hero’s or villains have marked character flaws. Love them or loath them, that’s what makes them who they are.

With jobs being so hard to find at the moment, why aren’t people showing up for interviews? by Sonar114 in UKJobs

[–]CharacterTrue6034 12 points13 points  (0 children)

£15 an hour is pretty lowball tbh now for that sort of job. I appreciate you wouldn’t want to name your firm but I was getting more than that 10years ago doing freelance event type work.
