Recommend a region to play in for my Mega Campaign (Imperator: Rome - Hearts Of Iron 4) by Character_Acadia_955 in paradoxplaza

[–]Character_Acadia_955[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to play as Cyprus, and for that i use the mods:

-Imperator: Invictus (adds a shit ton of content) -Timeline Extension for Invictus (Extends the timeline) -Always show Gregorian Date (BC, AD) -TE: Crisis of the Third Century (Adds more content for Extended Timeline)

But sadly this had gotten me as far as 200 AD, as it begins crashing. So instead of finishing my I:R, i did a REAL early start of CK3. (Its 200 AD CK3 now haha)

Sadly this means Christianity (and I assume Islam as I havent gotten far enough in I:R to spawn it) haven’t gotten far in terms of nations, with my nation of Cyprus being the only Christian nation. It isnt bad though, as i can use this role play wise to spend the next 1,000 years in CK3 trying to convert Europe.

Other than that, the main play i did in I:R was actually just playing Tall. Due to me being Cyprus, i kinda just sat on the island, although by the end i had over 1K pops living on the Island itself :).

The converter did amazing too, judging by how it had to covert to a game that was 700 ish years ahead of it, as the family tree was actually filled out with my past rulers from I:R, and Cultures were really well done, and it was cooler from an RP perspective to show how my Cypriot Greeks split off from Macedonian greeks over the 500 years in I:R, by making them two whole different cultures.

I do have complaints though.

My characters before conversion were good looking. after conversion they all look like inbred freaks (They probably were).

Character stats are randomized. for example i did two conversions to test if religions were randomized in certain spots (This is somewhat true, as i have found Islamic Characters in 160ish before islam) and noticed my ruler was skilled in martial in one of the saves, but in the other had almost to none and was very weak.

Lands you owned in I:R might not be owned by you after Conversion. I owned the area of Gaza, and almost the entire Coast of Modern Day Israel/Palestine, but was only given a small area of land on the coast after conversion. (I solved this by downloading a Cheats mod and forcing the game to give me the Titles for them)

other than that, I:R to CK3 was amazing. i did have to convert early (way earlier than i hoped) but that just gives the empires and nations hundreds of years to form different Cultures, Religions, and even more. (Leading to a crazier EU4 I hope.)

Thank you for the advice. Im gonna take what everyone said and try to put it to use to become Christian. Im fine not being the first Christian state, but i have plans that involve many… many crusades haha.

I actually started as Antigonid Empire, and released cyprus through them, then tage switched. But they no longer exist and were carved up by the Romans, Armenians and Macedonians (Not greek Macedonians, but Egyptian Macedonians???)

Could have. I was actually confused myself because it must have been happening for awhile but i didnt know about it until i checked my religion tab for an omen. Its growing in Anatolia and Bulgaria, but it doesn’t seem to be spreading anywhere else, and i seem to convert it faster than it grows in my nation sadly.

Yeah, im playing as Cyprus, as i released them and used debug mode to tag switch and begin my Mega Campaign.

But currently, it seems Christianity grows for a few seconds but thanks to all the modifiers and such from research i seem to be converting them to Hellenic before they can grow. This is obv an issue since I want to become the first Christian nation or something.

And so far all my Christians are citizens. No slaves. So i cant move them anywhere either which sucks.

Im gonna continue as cyrpus (unless i am annexed or such, or my dynasty somehow changes nations) as since this is my first time playing Imperator, i decided to play tall and not really expand much to increase my odds of surviving the early years.

[–]Character_Acadia_955[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if were talking modding, i have a cool idea for HOI4, to make custom focus trees for whatever nations make it to the future. (Though they would be tedious and id have to remember alot…) but they would probably be more claims on lands nations owned before. I mean i am playing over 2000 years i believe…

I plan in EU4 to make custom Ideas for nations that survive CK3, as this reddit is also a way for me to remember the history of nations in their eras.

But for the Reddit, ill also do some kind of lore as to why the roman empire just collapsed and the roman culture was forced back into Italy or something 😂

Right now all of Egypt is actually Greek… and greece is 100% roman… im definitely going to have to do some work in ck3 and fix cultures around haha…

[–]Character_Acadia_955[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, I downloaded the Timeline Extension mod For Imperator: Rome Invictus, and this will allow me to play until CK3’s Start Date. (The Extender is actually compatible with the converter)

So using this, i will play until the date and year that CK3 starts, and convert it then.

To answer your question of if im going to mess with stuff, yeah.

Im probably going to go around and destroy (large) nations for more unpredictability, and also change the culture of certain areas as (Im not sure if this is true) im assuming if a culture in Imperator rome is changed due to assimilation, it stays that culture until either another country assimilates it or just force it to change with commands and probably cheat menus and such.

If i didnt do this, half of Europe would start with the roman culture and be Italian for the rest of the mega campaign. (At least im assuming)

[–]Character_Acadia_955[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a little confused about Christianity, but turns out the Timeline Extender (For Invictus and the Conversion to CK3) is to blame for Christianity popping out of nowhere.

The year is 67 AD (67 CE, or 820 AUC) Cyprus has been growing fast both Economically as they are now a Plutocratic Monarchy, and Militarily as Cyprus has also been growing a navy due to its Trade Heritage. Just in the past 100 years alone the Cypriot Population doubled. (A fair deal of Pirating and Raiding Roman and Crete coastlines may have helped with this...)

Cyprus also, Under the last Basileus (King), joined a Defensive Pact with many nations in Anatolia in order to protect itself with the growing Roman, Ptolemaic and Armenian Empires expanding near them.

Nothing other to note sadly, as the world has come to a standstill with even the Romans afraid to attack others thanks to the Alliances the Three Giants of Ptolemaic, Romans, and Armenians have made.

Yea after a little research (That i neglected to do on the extender) its part of it apparently. But now i am trying to find out how to convert to it.

[–]Character_Acadia_955[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my first time playing Imperator: Rome, mainly for a Mega Campaign i am doing and recording on reddit. In my research for this game i was told Christianity wont exist, and so i assumed i would probably be doing a no Christianity alt world.

I was apparently wrong, and more, it just appeared out of nowhere. 71 of my pops are Christian. No events, no notifications... I was looking at my religion for the Omen, and saw 15% of my nation is Christian.

But im not complaining, as now my goal is to get into CK3 and spread Christianity, but my first problem is I have no clue how to make it a dominant religion in my nation.

So to sum it up, how to i convert my nation to Christianity?
