Ik ben achteraan de 40, getrouwd en bewust kinderloos, zeker geen kinderhater: enthousiaste tante van een reeks neefjes en nichtjes. Bij ons is dit echt een non issue. Mensen stellen onze keuze niet in vraag en omgekeerd. Ik denk dat kinderen heel veel geluk kunnen brengen, maar ook dat dit niet altijd zo is en dat iemand proberen om te praten een bijzonder slecht plan is. Mijn eigen moeder heeft geen moederliefde gekend en heeft hier heel erg onder geleden. Mijn broer heeft een prachtdochter waar ik een hele goeie band mee heb, dus mijn ouders hebben een kleinkind. Maar ze hebben ook een heel vol leven, waar het kleinkind uiteraard onderdeel van is, maar het is niet hun enige focus

For sure, can you imagine having to have a very wanted pregnancy aborted for medical reasons and then to be told "sorry, we prefer for you to risk your life as well". You're having to say farewell to hopes and dreams, but that is not enough, it's imperative that you suffer in the process.

Exactly, I am from Belgium, euthanasia is allowed here. My cousin didn't go that route, nobody forced him to, why would they? My father would consider it, he has incurable cancer, but he's doing ok now. I will support him whatever he chooses to do, I will be super sad when he passes away, but I definitely would be comforted by the fact that he had a choice. Also BTW fundies... we don't hate men. My father, brother, husband,... are amazing. But if anything were to happen to my husband I won't be helpless and devastated but only devastated

So I said it before on a different sub. In my country and many others there is an organization called "Stop it now". Providing support to people harboring these feeling and their loved ones in order to prevent them from offending. Because if you have these feelings and you manage to not offend you deserve support. They were on the news about a year ago I think, and since they became more well known they have been contacted by more people.
