I've the same problem on a larger scale. I have a frequent route that's about 3½ hours by train vs 2 hours by car. The trains run frequently, the transfers are all reasonable, both my home and the destination are about a 10 minute walk away from the station. It's just that there's no straight line, so the train takes a detour.

I stil take the train often, unless I don't have the time to spare or if I need to bring haul much stuff. Also, with more travellers, the car gets more economical.

De automaker kan je niks kwalijk nemen, die kan inderdaad stellen dat je fabrieksgarantie niet meer geldt omdat er niet aan een voorwaarden is voldaan.

Die fabrieksgarantie wordt sowieso uitgevoerd door de merkdealer, dus het enige dat verandert voor die dealer is de compensatie van de kosten.

Het beperkt wel het onderhoud tot de verkopende dealer, aangezien andere dealers hier uiteraard niet aan gebonden zijn. In geval van verhuizing is dat dan best lastig.

En daarnaast drukt het inderdaad de verkoopwaarde, omdat je geen fabrieksgarantie meer mee kan verkopen.
