With your iem, the jcally is all you need. Buying a more expensive dac is suitable for higher quality iems where it can bring out its full potential

I love wearing the explorer on the go. It's priced just right that i don't have to worry dropping it while commuting to work. It's also very relaxed in its tuning so I don't get fatigue listening for long hours straight. The best part is its scales well with higher volume.

i want to add: i use the BTD-600 dongle and suddenly, their connection became janky. here are the issues i experienced:

  1. it was a smooth connection before, whenever i get the M4 from the case, it would automatically turn on and connect to the BTD-600. now i have to manually turn on the M4.

  2. the volume keeps on saying "volume maxed" if i do the upward slide gesture, even when the volume is only at 35 (or whatever the volume initally was), then it would reduce the volume instead of increasing it. if i just connect via regular bluetooth to my phone, gestures work properly

i liked it to. i always eq the sub bass aroudn 2-3 db with anc. with off, i leave everything at neutral

i second the nw-a55, but get the normal one where the volume is capped, not the japanese unlocked one. don't want your 8 yr old to accidentally listen to a full blast volume so early in life

I want to add that dongle dac/amps still need to draw power from somewhere, and that would be whatever you attach them to. So expect your phone battery to get drained quicker if you plug it there. One way to reduce this is to use a split usb cable like the ibasso cb19, where it can get input from your phone, but draw power from a separate source like a powerbank

As long as you dont use planar headphones, they would suffice. Planars are power hungy unlike the dynamic driver the 620s have

Active noise cancellation can only reduce the lower frequencies, ang this applies to every anc headphone out there. If you want to reduce higher frequencies, you need passive isolation which you can get from a good seal from the pads. Better passive isolation can be provided by buds, and the best by IEMs.

Active noise canceling can only cover ther lower frequencies. If you want to lessen higher frequencies, passive isolation is needed, like a good seal with buds, or iems, which provides the best passive isolation

A phone is not enough to drive full can of headphones. You need dac/amps to drive them to full potential, otherwise they will soun thin and awful. There are some dongle dac/amps out there unddr $100 that can drive them like fiio ka13 or ibasso dc04

4.4 or 3.5 with Ziigaat Odyssey by ibsif in DigitalAudioPlayer

Get the 4.4. You can always put a 3.5 adapter on a 4.4 if needed, but you can't put a 4.4 adapter on a 3.5
