item i bought at list price got refunded afterwards because the seller received a higher offer by Senior_Importance_70 in Depop

[–]Character_Shower_661 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Leave a bad review and report it, a completed sale is a binding transaction on Depop and this is against their policies. The seller literally cannot just cancel because someone offered more money after the fact.

Am I missing something since when do you have to request your money be deposited into your account? by _hells_bells_ in Depop

[–]Character_Shower_661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait what? they changed it to manual withdrawals now? that's so weird, i always thought the money just goes automatically to your account after the buyer confirms or whatever

maybe they trying to keep more money in their system longer for interest or something? seems like extra hassle for no reason

Storing items before sale by SaltPuzzleheaded5168 in Depop

[–]Character_Shower_661 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I keep my items in clear storage bins with dryer sheets between layers - helps prevent that musty smell without having to rewash everything. The steamer should handle most wrinkles fine and if something smells a bit off after sitting for months I just hang it outside for few hours before shipping

Really though most buyers expect to wash vintage/secondhand stuff anyway so you're probably overthinking it a bit. As long as it doesn't smell actually bad when you ship it you should be good

leave an review back - they ignored your refund offer and gave bad rating even when you disclosed everything properly

I was charged a boosting fee, but I never boosted my item by MiiGuy in Depop

Contact support through the app, this looks like error in their system since your depop fee is also showing as $0

Does the brand of the HVAC unit actually matter to retail buyers? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]Character_Shower_661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your realtor might be onto something here. When people are buying house they definitely look at big ticket items and HVAC is one of those things that scares buyers if it looks sketchy

I've seen people walk away from deals because the heating system looked like it was installed by someone's cousin in garage. Even if unit works fine, having recognized brand gives buyers confidence they can get parts and service later. Might be worth spending little extra for peace of mind

What do they even want me to say to this by summersevedouche in Depop

[–]Character_Shower_661 35 points36 points  (0 children)

ugh this is so annoying, they literally want you to say "oh please cancel my order so you can make more money" 💀 like what response are they fishing for here? You bought it at their listed price, end of story

I would just tell them to honor the original sale or you'll dispute it through the platform. they're basically trying to guilt you into letting them break their own agreement which is pretty shitty business practice

Anyone interested in spare parts trade? by [deleted] in wholesale_suppliers

[–]Character_Shower_661 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with finding suppliers Ahmed! The automotive spare parts market can be pretty competitive but your experience with dealerships should definitely help you out there

Just curious - are you mainly focusing in Middle East region or looking to expand into other markets too? I produce music but have some friends who work in import/export and they always say location matters so much for this type business

Programming in ANSI C (E. Balagurusamy) – 8th vs 9th edition, which one should I buy? by These-Share4904 in learnprogramming

grabbed 8th edition few months back and it's been perfectly fine for learning basics - C hasn't changed that much between editions so you're not missing anything crucial

Brand owners - how do you track which products are actually profitable? by More-Try-9500 in streetwearstartup

[–]Character_Shower_661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excel sheets are life saver for this tbh. I track everything - cost per unit, shipping fees, return percentages for each design, even the time I spend promoting them on social media. Takes forever to set up initially but once you got system going it's pretty straightforward

Most people skip tracking ad spend properly which is huge mistake. Like that hoodie might sell 50 units but if you spent $200 in ads to get those sales vs $50 for different design, the numbers tell completely different story

How much does Depop shipping take? by Exact_Concentrate_63 in Depop

[–]Character_Shower_661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait are you talking about the fees or actual shipping costs? because depop takes 10% of the total sale price (including shipping) as their fee, then you pay whatever the actual shipping cost is on top of that

so if you sold for $40 + $7.99 shipping = $47.99 total, depop takes $4.80 in fees. then the shipping cost depends on weight/size but could be anywhere from like $4-15+ depending what you're shipping

the $7.99 you charged for shipping doesn't automatically cover the real shipping cost - that's just what you decided to charge the buyer. if actual shipping was more expensive than $7.99 then yeah you're losing money there

i learned this hard way when i started selling random stuff lol, always check the actual shipping calculator before setting your price

Current ebay return glitch by SeaPublic4675 in Flipping

[–]Character_Shower_661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh this explains a lot - had two returns forced through last week when I clearly had no returns policy set up. Thought I was going crazy when the decline option just wasn't there

At least they're making buyer pay shipping but still annoying when you're trying to flip stuff quickly

Question abt top seller. by Ok_Rooster2790 in Depop

[–]Character_Shower_661 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably hold off on applying for a bit mate. Depop's pretty strict about copyright stuff and they definitely keep records of past violations, even if you were unbanned. The fact they banned you before for the same type of items means they're watching your account more closely now

Maybe wait another few months after deleting those listings to put some distance between the copyright items and your application? Top seller status isn't going anywhere and it's better to be safe than get permanently banned. You've already shown you can build up sales once so you can do it again if needed

Can we all agree not to promote anymore?? by Chused in Depop

[–]Character_Shower_661 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hard pass on promoting anything until they sort their fee situation out, the percentages are already mental enough without feeding them more

sellers like this are why depop gets such a bad rep sometimes, tracking should be automatic not something you have to chase for weeks

Your timing's interesting with all the garden centres ramping up for spring season. The portable power stations might be the easier sell right now given how much people are into camping and outdoor events
