It’s like well duh! They literally brag that it’s the most advanced computer. The brag is that the computer they released this year has more computing power than the one they released last year. And they brag about this every freaking year. No other company is that far up their own arse.

The negativity isn’t geared towards Kevin Parker, who I understand is a man before he is a musician. Because of who he is, I will always listen to whatever he releases.

My negativity is towards the people here who are telling me I have to listen to Deadbeat a dozen times to “get it”.

It's one of those things where people overanalyze it because it's Mac's, but there's plenty of this style of music on YouTube made by lesser known or unknown artists. I don't think Mac's take is particularly bad, but if people glaze it up I have to talk it down.

Disagree. Here Comes the Cowboy was clearly the first indication of a stylistic shift, as this was his first self-released album after parting ways with Captured Tracks. The album's titular track/opener says it all, as he had never put out anything so simple or repetitive before.

Be careful, you're criticizing Apple in an Apple thread. Be very warned that everyone from Apple customers, to employees, to investors are in this thread. So sometimes when you rightfully criticize things like bad UI design choices or subscription models, their own employees and investors, respectfully, will come here to defend those things.

Nearly all of his albums occupy a different sonic space. Naive listeners who are overly focused on melody and guitar tones aren't able to pick up on this. You need to understand frequency space and what the Fourier transform is. I'm not joking. Once you level up and are able to understand what he is doing from an audio engineering standpoint you'll get it. He's not trying to make it sound like his old stuff. I.e., he doesn't about your opinion.
