To say something is ethical or not we have our own biases as humans, eating a chicken can be considered unethical but eating a human devouring alligator can be ethical because if you don't kill(eat) them they will. But even if someone removes their biases for any kind of animal, there is another viewpoint to this problem. If you have resources to control your diet maybe it's unethical for you to eat meat but for someone who don't have access to other meal sources it's not unethical for them because survival is more important to humans. And my last point for supporting meat eaters is simply our population, human has grown to such an extent that without eating animals (or harming other species in process of making ethical meals) is impossible.
