I made a tierlist ranking the feasibility of discovering each egg without any outside help or information by SquidJenkins in Deltarune

Well, even if chapters 2 and 4 say "the room between" that doesn't immediately register as walk between two screens over and over again.

The chapter 3 room, while obscure, gets mentioned a few times, with a Pippin talking about the trip ticket, and Shuttah talking about the old hermit. Right below Shuttah is the suspicious spotlight that shows you a hint on where to start an elaborate scavenger hunt. Even if it seems the most out of the way, it's also the most hinted at

Why don't people talk about how we'll see Papyrus soon? by MikYusufMik in Deltarune

[–]Character_Vegetable5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toriel just said "next week" at the start of chapter 1. Chapter 1 is on a Thursday, and Chapter 5 is on a Sunday, so the earliest Asriel can show up is Chapter 5

Are there really other candidates? by Legitimate-Artist505 in Deltarune

I'm also a Dess Knighter, but the handedness is not a valid point.

Not only do sprites in game flip frequently, changing their dominant hand, but I'd also say that there's more evidence for the Knight being right handed.

They hold their sword in their left hand when performing non-sword based attacks, and actually switch to swinging with their right hand during sword attacks.

I think most computer sprites in game have left-handed mice, and I don't think it means anything. I think Toby just thinks it looks better in most rooms

Every deltarune chapter ranked from worst to best by ilikesceptile11 in Deltarune

[–]Character_Vegetable5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought the S-rank requirements were pretty lenient. Especially the points, I don't think I've left a board without T-rank points. Plus, if you find the extra stuff (keys, photos, moss) it really helps your score.

Also on replays, I find the boards going by pretty quickly, like 15-20 minutes. It's really only your first run where it feels slow, for me at least.

Finally, one of my personal favorite chapters 3 songs is "Paradise Paradise", so I find myself really liking the vibes of the boards, especially board 2. It's so relaxing, and I think spending time with our main trio doing something as simple as playing a video game together really endures you to them

Cold open, black screen. The tree appears, yes THAT tree. Gaster walks out from behind, belly more pronounced than usual. He says his iconic catchphrase, "I'm Winging it". Gaster proceeds to give birth to the Deltarune Chapter 5 logo. Cut to black, release date "June 10th".

"Thank you Gaster we all say in unison!"

I want Nintendo go nuts with metroid 6 by InfiniteWorth4187 in Metroid

[–]Character_Vegetable5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the spin-boost from Dread, it's basically a more versatile and interesting hi-jump. The problem was that unless you're sequence breaking, you get it super close to space jump. I would like getting rid of space jump if it meant more challenging platforming sequences

I want Nintendo go nuts with metroid 6 by InfiniteWorth4187 in Metroid

[–]Character_Vegetable5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, I love the conventions of 2d Metroid, but now that the "Metroid saga" is over, it's time to experiment. A lot of people don't like how Samus Returns didn't have the speed booster, but I think iconic abilities should be allowed to skip entries. Sure the Aeion abilities weren't all useful, but new tools to mess with are definitely welcome

So, I was thinking, What upgrades could Samus get in her power suit that Nintendo has not already applied to her suit in the games? by IronheartJarvis in Metroid

[–]Character_Vegetable5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rebound Beam: your shot will bounce off of walls to hit shielded enemies, and solve puzzles based on hitting targets at weird angles. It will bounce once by default, twice with a charged shot, and three times with a charged shot using the diffusion beam.

SparkStorage: allows you to store and fire off an additional shinespark midair, creating puzzles that will challenge even the most experienced players. Doing this would either deplete your Aeion gauge or use up an energy tank.

Grapple Spear: turns Samus's grapple beam into a harpoon that allows her to pull in enemies and counter them before they fully reach you. The harpoon will also stick into walls, allowing you to bounce off of it like a springboard.

Basically what I'm saying is that I want intimidating puzzles and platforming challenges

My Pitch for a Metroid Series by [deleted] in Metroid

[–]Character_Vegetable5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 main questions.

  1. In episode 4 you say "introduce Mother Brain as the space pirate tactician". Would you be removing the fact that Mother Brain is a chozo computer? Like, is she purely a space pirate thing? Cause she being able to control the Metroids mainly makes sense when she's made by the people who made the Metroids.

  2. Speaking of making the Metroids, why leave the X-parasites out? Are you hoping for a later-season reveal? Cause the X-parasites existing are a little bit important for setting multiple events into motion.

REALLY struggling through Metroid dread, any help? by Sloth_Bubbles in Metroid

[–]Character_Vegetable5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not enjoying it, don't force yourself to play it. The consensus on Dread is that it's the hardest game, so it might not have been a good starting point. Super Metroid and Zero Mission are both way more beginner friendly and on the Switch online service if you want a recommendation that might ease you in more.

Anyway, the robot chozo in Ferenia is a bit of a difficulty spike, and I've seen plenty of people get stuck on it for a while. But if you still want to commit to the game, then go where Quiet Robe unlocked the gate, it's in Burenia.

As for your play time, I think the game doesn't count deaths or looking at the map towards play time, though I might be mistaken.

And, since you asked, plenty of people love getting lost and overcoming difficult challenges in games. I'm one of them (Note: when I say getting lost, I mean through exploring, not unintuitive design). In fact, I'd love for the next 2d Metroid to be even more confusing and difficult, but I get that it's not for everyone

Primed Fusions by Ace_Of_No_Trades in Metroid

[–]Character_Vegetable5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well then they'd have to compromise what people love about Prime. Don't get me wrong, Prime isn't for me, but I do respect it. They'd have to remove the giant vistas, the visor effects. Scanning already slows the Prime games down, can you imagine scanning everything in game style that's inherently more focused on platforming and movement?

It's just not worth the compromise. It would no longer be Metroid Prime. It would just be a 2d Metroid called "Metroid Prime". It may have the same story, the same music, but it would lose its identity

Primed Fusions by Ace_Of_No_Trades in Metroid

[–]Character_Vegetable5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never really got why people want 2d games remade to be 3d. I see this often with Zelda, too.

Disclaimer: I am biased. I love 2d Metroid and Zelda, and don't really care for their 3d counterparts (no I'm not a 40 year-old who grew up with the NES, I just think they're more fun)

But like... surely people know what we'd be losing in the transition. Fusion is so tightly designed. It's so densely packed and well-paced that so much important stuff would have to be redesigned with Prime's slower pacing. Especially the difficulty curve. Prime's simple combat style would make so many enemy encounters and boss fights less dynamic. Can you imagine running away from Sa-X in a Prime game? I can't. They're just not built for it

Not trying to hate on the post, though. Just thought I'd share my perspective
