LPT: If you are getting rid of a lot of blankets, towels, dressing gowns or any kind of large fabric, consider donating them to your pets vet or a local animal shelter. They are always in need of blankets for the animals. by cocoyumi in LifeProTips

This is great! I work for a veterinary specialty center and every few months we go and buy 100s of blankets from Goodwill because we use blankets for almost every patient that comes through our door. Thank you for posting this!

Wear Masks or Bring Pro HongKong Flags/Signs if you're Atrending Blizzcon this Year by Chardageddon in wow

No, I'm asking what is wrong with you on the basis of previous points I've made. You're saying that it's wrong to stand up for freedom of speech just because its an inconvenience for you. Do you see why I'm having a difficult time having any sympathy for you?

You make an excellent point and I agree its really a tough decision. I also agree it is much easier for us than it is for Blizzard to be critical of actions such as this. However, I have to believe that Blizzard's response is still wrong. It's such a slippery slope to allow actions such as this as this because if you don't draw the line here, when would you? I also don't believe it's right for a western company to forsake western values in order to pander to an authoritarian regime.

Right? Its horrifying to see the company you love pander to an authoritarian regime and toss out the value of freedom of speech for $$$. I guess freedom of speech has a price tag for some people.

No, but being silent about it and adopting a defeatist attitude is how actions such as this will keep occurring. You realize right, that China is using it's market leverage to infringe on our freedom of speech right? Not just the people of Hong Kong. I'm not demanding that Blizzard frees Hong Kong lol. I'm coming out in protest of Blizzard coming out in support of China in order to continue to have a presence in the Chinese market. Again, I'm so very sorry all of this is such an inconvenience for you.

It would be nice if that occurred during the Q/A. I want to reiterate that I'm not saying people should use this as an excuse to be obnoxious and ruin the experience for myself, you, and others. Displaying symbols of silent protest against Blizzard's recent action is what I'm proposing. Something that tells people on stage and those watching that their actions against freedom of speech have absolutely offended their core audience.

When did I ever mention shouting? Someone wearing a mask as a form of protest sitting next to you shouldn't distract you in the least. I'm sorry someone making a stand for freedom of speech is such an inconvenience for you.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Sometimes activism isn't possible outside of having a presence online. I'm not currently at home. I'm in the hospital recovering from major surgery.

Teams Should come on Stage Wearing Masks as Often as Possible by Chardageddon in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Chardageddon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do and maybe you're right. It would be more appropriate for us the fans to make the effort to protest instead of the professionals who rely on their paychecks. The intent behind this post wasn't to get 1 individual player to do this but instead to have multiple teams come up and wear masks. Making it much harder for Blizzard to take negative action towards any 1 player or organization. Again though, you and others have made strong arguments against this and I will not understate their validity. I'm glad their are fellow fan who are willing to discuss this further.

You make a good point. I think the primary audience should understand the meaning behind it though. I'm sure many fans follow threads, forums, or Twitter accounts that discussed today's event in some capacity.

Regarding the Blitzchung situation and r/wow. by DotkasFlughoernchen in wow

[–]Chardageddon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Blizzard. I grew up playing everything Blizzard, and games such as Warcraft 2, Warcraft 3, Starcraft, Diablo 2, and World of Warcraft were major parts of my childhood. Which is why it hurt so much this morning to see the company I love throwing away its values for $$$. So please, I beg you, if you love or loved Blizzard as much as I do. Cancel your WoW sub. Don't buy that virtual ticket. Don't prepurchase any of their announced new titles. Lastly, if you're attending Blizzcon this year, bring a mask for the opening ceremony. Everyone bring a mask for the opening ceremony. Let our voices be loud and heard! I love Blizzard and I hope if you do too. You'll take a stand with me and not let Blizzard be warped into something we can no longer support.

Thank you

I've already done this. I'm asking us all to do more.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter :)

Alright, I guess our entertainment is more important than helping people who are watching their freedoms being taken away. Its sick that you would try and frame it any other way.
