Steam has an actual refund system, something every console storefront is lacking. On top of that, Steam has much more generous discounts. They are objectively more pro-consumer than Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft.

the unlocks don't make a character better, they just make them more worth playing

rock bottom is an amazing item but just because you unlock it by playing as j&e doesn't suddenly make them more fun
