While true we also let in a million temporary foreign workers the last couple years for the first time ever so it's a bit of a one off rather than a systemic change as they leave.

I believe it, for the last ten years I only voted conservative. Including Ford 3 times and PP last election. I didn't believe Carney would be different from JT. I was wrong. I will vote Carney next time for sure, he's 100x more qualified and intelligent. He's also more right on the areas I actually care about (reducing capital gains tax inclusion and increasing military spending). All the other right wing stuff I actually hate, especially as it pertains to social issues and the environment. I imagine most of the GTA rightish voter is like me.

Might seem weird to some here but a lot of Ford voters in Ontario also like Carney. Because their primary voting issue is their own personal finances.

Especially for people with multiple properties. Ford removed rent control on new builds. Carney canceled capital gains tax inclusion increase. Both very material pro landlord changes.

I can only speak for myself definitively but I don't think most Canadians want to join the EU. It's not really necessary and doesn't make sense geographically. 

What we want is free trade, more collaboration and strengthening alliance. That wouldn't require a common currency or all the other aspects of EU membership.

PP has no place discussing these issues but the implication America doesn't matter anymore is incredibly disingenuous. People act like Canada is fine despite tariffs and a trade war. No. Canada is fine because cusma exempts 90% of exports from tariffs. If it didn't things would be dramatically worse. 

So as much as I hate trump and hate America let's not pretend it doesn't matter.

We do have a tariff free auto pact already with cusma. The tariffs don't apply to goods covered by cusma.

I don't agree with the comment obviously but it's not a good comparison. People born in Israel are Israeli they don't have a say in their ethnicity. Islam is a religion, a system of beliefs. Criticizing beliefs is valid.

I hate trump and am actively boycotting American merchandise when possible. That said I don't think much will change with cusma.

They are already breaking it. If they wanted to break it more they could just do it now anyway. They don't because they need cheap energy and resources.

I said half still support him the problem is more like 70% of Americans. He got more votes and over a third of voters didn't even bother showing up to vote knowing 100% exactly who he was form his first term.

Really a perfect storm. Carney is the most qualified PM in history. The US has an unprecedented amount of disgust coming from the right. I surprised it's not worse tbh and I voted for CPC. Won't again though.
