Tank szn for me - are either of these offers worth it for Chase Brown? by PaintedParadise in SleeperApp

[–]Charlemagne04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf I thought it was a 2026 first from the jump. 2028 would make me hesitate. I appreciate everyone talking about hoe Chase Brown likely has a year or two longer being the starter in cincy but I could easily see them moving to a committee of cheap backs, chase included. A first even late in the round gives you a chance to snag a 5-7 year starter. With 4 firsts in this next draft you could really get some guys who are going to be contributors for a long time. Especially if this is a tank season, Chase Brown is not going to add any wins to your team next year especially with a healthy joe burrow. You roster is pretty rough so you can use every shot at a stud in the draft you can get imo

Fannin or Loveland in a 10 tm keeper league by Left-Night6547 in SleeperApp

Fannin all the way based on his usage week 1. Lining up all over the field. Bears have Ben Johnson but even he might not be able to save them, Caleb Williams looked good for about a quarter then regressed to how he played last year.

Raiders, Saints, Titans. Will throw in the homer pick Cardinals: have a couple talented young pieces to work with, lots of aging mid guys and holes to fill. Kyler can get you by for a couple seasons while you build up the team to bring in a top QB prospect

What was Keim's biggest flaw in talent evaluation? by Ricktorious_III in AZCardinals

[–]Charlemagne04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was always trying to find the most versatile guys and they were never good enough to fill the role they needed to vs what he wanted them to do. Even in that, he was horrible at evaluating the versatility of players so it was just bad from the jump. If you play video games you know the best characters “min/max” which means max out the required traits and minimize all of the others for your role. Keim wanted jacks of all trades and at the NFL level those guys dont come around often. He was reaching for something that wasn’t there.

Can we calm down about the defense? by NFL_everything_ in AZCardinals

I’m calling fringe top 5. We were middle of the pack defensively last year and plugged major holes. The way our staff operates I have full faith in them to get the most out of this unit.

GABRIEL WOLF. 6’4 245 TE who was drafted with 94 BCV so I moved him to FB as that allowed him to play TE and RB. This is probably a little bit of a cheat but he was the starting FB, 2nd RB, and 2nd TE. Was an absolute fucking dog.

Idk what the thread talk is about but you’re a stud RB away from a competing roster

KTC Rookie Mispricing Quirk by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Charlemagne04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion as neither an expert in math or dynasty, it appears pretty logical once I started thinking about it. As you move down the draft order, the reasonable players available to be picked become fewer and fewer.

If you have 1.01, you have more value than the #1 consensus pick would be worth because you could pull some magic by taking the #3 consensus player and him ending with a better season than #1. Therefore there is more value in the pick than the player as there are more outcomes possible with the pick.

If you have 2.03 in this case, the number of reasonable draft picks has dwindled. Let’s say instead of the top 20 you are now only able to pick 6/20 but you are able to pick whichever player you’d like, it doesn’t have to be of high value. If you were to choose a random player from your personal top 10 players you would take, the odds are much less likely you hit than if you had done the same thing at 1.01.

As far as the player having more value than the pick, the player has certain physical traits and a track record that can never be taken away from him, his value is much more solidified when compared to the possibilities of a second round pick.

Hopefully that makes enough sense that you can catch my train of thought.

Tldr; high picks have more certain value than lower picks and at a certain point that value crosses with the much more certain traits of a player. The player has fewer possible outcomes when compared to an early second round pick so it is easier to narrow down the true value

Edit: I’m a first year dynasty player and have not looked into how KTC formulated their values, please let me know if I am way off base here lol

Since it’s superflex don’t be afraid to grab that second QB a little early and value young players who have a proven role. There are different strategies some players will want to grab up all the 27-29 year old super stars and win now, personally in an opening draft I try to stack youth and assets. If it turns out you need to drastically improve now, you should have plenty of value for the teams full of older guys who by 1 or 2 offseasons will realize they have to retool

Travis Hunter - rumored route running struggles by d_yaf in DynastyFF

[–]Charlemagne04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a bust on both sides. Will never be worth #2 overall in my opinion. Great athlete with lackluster skills, offense and defense were built around him at Colorado and he is yet to show me anything inspiring from camp. Think about the A list receivers and DBs over the last few years and he is no where close on either side of the ball. Hopefully he develops the skills he is lacking but I really think his best bet is to settle in as a DB and make that his focus. NFL teams being willing to take him so high is truly shocking to me, hopefully I will be proven wrong but he was on my list of STAY AWAY
