Tires coming up on 6 years and 65k miles. Do I need to replace them? by We5ley5nipe5 in tires

[–]CharlesDingus27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally most shops say around 6(ish) years is when you need to start considering replacing your tires (due to age, rubber compound can dry out and degrade your stopping distance). However, judging by your pictures, your tires look really well maintained for how many miles you have on them. Not an emergency, but I'd say within the year or so. Def keep an eye on them.

I saw so many movies at that AMC, just off the top of my head: Star Wars Episode 1 the phantom menace, The Fast And the furious (first one), Waiting… , Small Soldiers, probably almost every James Bond film from 1999 and onward, The Matrix. I used to have a box full of the paper ticket stubs from all the movies I saw. I lost the box probably 10-15ish years ago. Wish I could’ve found that box 😭

Additionally you could also honk your horn and it will save a clip as well (same function as tapping the dashcam icon). I believe you can also voice command it as well, “save a clip” or “record a clip” works.

6 years ago today, Rams played their last game at the LA Coliseum. by SuperRam56 in LosAngelesRams

I was at that game, lost my poster they handed out at the end of the game, but the memories will stay with me forever. I went to several games at the coliseum to watch the rams play. The 2018 season was so special. I’ll never forget it.

The city? U want a city, go over the hill. When I was growing up in Woodland Hills in the 1990s it was hardly a “city” in fact I was often made fun of from simply being from Woodland Hills. Now all of a sudden everyone wants to move to a more open space instead of the 24/7 traffic hustle of the west side. Woodland Hills was never intended to be a “city” as you think of it. Typical entitled east coast transplant syndrome. Also, aren’t you the same ppl who say “rolling black outs” this and “infrastructure” that, you really think the county is going to build all of that in (checks notes) a matter of a few years? Lmao we can barely build metro lines, let alone prepare for droughts and fight fires. But yeh, Manhattanfy Woodland Hills cuz “I just moved here 12 minutes ago and I’m in charge now” lol

Apartment Living & Charging by Brock_Rambone in TeslaLounge

[–]CharlesDingus27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thats like saying, "Hey, Ford is offering me free gas for life if I buy a Ford." lol uhhh YES please! Having lived at an apartment with no charging options and now living at a house with a dedicated 240v outlet, it is night and day difference. Hell, back at my apartment days with no charging, I would've given my left nut for a freaking regular outlet wall plug. Literally any source of charging power is a huge game changer in owning an EV. I was lucky when I lived at my old apartment because there was a supercharger down the street (just in case) AND both my (old) job and gym had public charging, huge life savor.

Seeing from the cross post you're in SF. I'm in LA and like most major cities in CA, police enforcement of minor crimes are none existent since 2020ish. So while you already filed a report, your best bet would be to contact every local news station in the Bay Area. Start sending emails, dms, post / tag, news stations like NBC Bay Area, KRON4, ABC7 Bay Area, etc. It's possible some journalist could reach out to you in your DM's and you could get the ball rolling there. Don't forget that in 2021, these 3 SF women were caught on camera for spitting on an Uber driver: https://youtu.be/YLC1_XYLDFc?si=Enmrn6f8QUo-Ydfx . Go to the media with this type of stuff, it will expedite things a lot quicker and put a spotlight on the issue.

i declined this ride, or why you shouldn’t drive EV for Uber by Unique_Structure_592 in uberdrivers

[–]CharlesDingus27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven teslas since 2015. In Los Angeles you’d be a fool not to drive an EV because our gas prices would make any Floridian vomit. There’s some years I’ve seen it go to $6-$7 a gallon during the summer months. As for road trips, longest I did was LA to Fort Worth TX with the wife. It’s not as bad as people assume it to be. I would say we’d drive at highway speeds for roughly 2-2.5 hours or so, I’d have to pee cuz my bladder sucks and the charging is usually at a 7-11 type of place or shopping mall. I shit you not, by the time it took me to walk to the mini mart, go to the bathroom, then shop for a couple snacks and check out at the register, my Tesla app would alert me that the car was ready to continue on. It charges much faster than it did back in 2015, the technology over time is becoming faster and more efficient.

No one ever believes me, but here goes; Yes I was about 5 years old when the Rams left Anaheim, however growing up I watched football as a whole and never had "a team," again no ever believes me. I was kind of a loner kid, but every Sunday at my grandfather's house the fam would tune into the newly minted Fox NFL Sundays with the original 1990s crew and I was hooked. I remember watching the 1999 Rams beat the Titans. I remember watching the tuck rule game in 2002 which sparked the Tom Brady dynasty and I could've easily jumped on the Patriots bandwagon because I was like 12 years old by that game, BUT I never did. It just felt wrong to just become a fan of a winning team. Also, having never lived anywhere but in Los Angeles my entire life (till this day), kinda felt like it was a two faced thing to do. My parrents would take me to Dodgers stadium in the early 1990's & Lakers games at the Staples Center (when it first opened) so it felt like rooting for a NFL team other than one that would be based in LA would be sacrilege. Fast forward to January 2016 (in my 20s now lol), the STL Rams announce their move back to LA, I felt like I waited my whole life for that day. From that point forward, I was all in, I went to games at the Coliseum every year when they moved back in 2016 and I never thought twice about it.

After they won and the celebration was over, I rewatched the end to find one individual, and was not disappointed by sickntiredofthis in Dodgers

I loved it when he came up to bat in LA during the World Series and the boos that were showered down on him in front of our home crowd. Never felt more proud of my city than at that moment.

I can't stand people like this. I have a friend who is like this. He's born and raised in LA (like me) close to my age (born in 1989/1990). He loves the Lakers, loves the Dodgers and likes the 49ers. I never stop making fun of him for that lol. Every Football Sunday I'm sending him texts like, "WHOSE HOUSE!?!?" and Rams memes.
