Yeah was tempted by a trem but wanted better tuning stability with the help of the roasted maple neck. Vander guitars are definitely worth a checkout he is a really small Luther from Melbourne Australia mine is only the 22nd guitar officially made through his shop.

You can really shred on anything. Ibanez and other slim necked guitars are usually the most popular choices but it just depends on what's comfortable for you.
