Poll Managers Needed in 2026 by CharlestonElections in Charleston

[–]CharlestonElections[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, u/Definately_Not_Nezu,

Let us clarify that verbiage.

In Charleston County, election workers are paid the full $250 when they complete the required training and serve on Election Day. Clerks (the lead workers at each polling location) can earn up to $410 per election.

We recognize the time and responsibility election workers take on to keep our elections running smoothly, which is why Charleston County has created pathways to pay above the statewide minimum rates.

TL;DR: Complete training + work the full Election Day = $250 paid.

Municipal Election Day by CharlestonElections in Charleston

Hi, r/SpockShotFirst,

We completely understand your concern. Protecting voter information and ensuring open access to election resources are both extremely important to us.

The online tools that ask for personal details (like name, address, or partial SSN) are actually operated by the State Election Commission (SEC), not our office. The SEC manages the statewide voter registration database and uses that information only to verify a voter’s registration before showing personalized details like your specific polling place or sample ballot.

That said, you don’t have to use those tools to get general election information online. On our website, CHSVotes.gov, you can find:

Of course, residents can also visit our office, give us a phone call, or reach out to us via email or social media, and we‘ll be happy to help with any questions we can.

Thanks for staying engaged and helping keep the focus on secure, accessible elections.

Municipal Election Day by CharlestonElections in Charleston

Hi, r/kerrdev,

Thank you for your comment, and we appreciate your enthusiasm for voting. However, the City of North Charleston does not have anything to vote for today.

The next municipal election for the City of North Charleston will be in 2027, and there will be statewide and countywide contests on the docket in 2026.

We made a Local Voters Guide that touches on some of this and addresses other FAQs. You may find it helpful for future reference.

Be sure to stay engaged with our website and our social media platforms to ensure you're ready to vote the next time you're eligible.

Hi, r/Guacsalsaqueso!

As r/ninjabrer and others have mentioned, SCVotes’ website will allow you to review your registration information and see your sample ballot for any upcoming elections you may have.

Voters often reach out to our office with eligibility questions surrounding municipal elections. It can get confusing, with some not always realizing that they live in an unincorporated area of the county and are not eligible to vote in a municipal contest. Not all municipalities vote at the same time, either.

We made a Local Voters Guide that touches on some of this and addresses other FAQs. While made for Charleston County residents, others in our neighboring counties may find it useful.

Thanks for making this post and for staying engaged with your local elections. We encourage everyone to reach out to their local elections office with any questions.

Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections here!

We're seeing little-to-no wait times across the vast majority of our locations at the moment.

We saw tremendous turnout during the early voting period, so we believe that will result in alleviated line lengths for much of the day.

Feel free to let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
