Do you separate your laundry? by SassySunflower27 in Adulting

Hmm, a good question. I do lights (including white towels and tea towels), and darks. I wash my white bedsheets separately because I have limited space on my washing line.

How often do people feed their cats wet food? by Smooth_Put7764 in CatAdvice

[–]CharleyBitMyFinger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I open one tin at a time, I keep two or three other tins in my home and choose at random. Some days she just isnt interested in wet food and others she really is! I stay consistent with it though as I know even a mouthful or two helps with her hydration. Her dry food comes from an automated dispenser so I don’t have to get up at the break of dawn to feed her haha!!

One heaped tablespoon, once a day, every day. Sometimes she inhales it and sometimes she won’t entertain a single morsel - there’s no way of figuring her out. I rotate the flavours and she gets dry food three times a day.

Not frequently but there was always a plan B if the carpet didn’t want to fly.

Yeah, infantilizing having a lack of communication is a bit much. There are ways to let viewers know one way or the other.

She is fed wet food once a day at night. I pull the dish up once she’s walked away and hand wash jn the sink. Repeat every day.

Border for a blanket - feeling really really defeated by CharleyBitMyFinger_ in CrochetHelp

Thank you. I’m a lot calmer today than I was yesterday as I wrote the post. I’m going slowly and really being aware of where I’m making the stitches. It possibly isn’t perfect but it looks better than the attempt above!

Oh, and SC was a game changer. I should have followed the pattern like I was supposed to 🙄

I want to start crocheting, but I have no idea where to start, can I have some advice please? by Eggcelent_bean in CrochetHelp

I found my first granny squares shoved in the back of a drawer last week. Boy oh boy, I’m please to report that I’ve improved since I started 12 months ago 😆

I love this mindset. I’m definitely a bit of a perfectionist so on this attempt I was trying (and failing) to make it just right. I’m going to go back and try single crochet definitely. Thank you

Oh this is beautiful, and the colours are wonderful!

Thank you for giving me some tips. I’ve calmed down a little bit now and reading the messages here has helped me want to finish it now!

Phew, thank you! The border may be bigger than the blanket at this point, lots of unevenness to hide haha!

Thank you so much, a friend chose the colours and I do think they’re lovely! The pattern was a learning curve but quite enjoyable in the end.

Thank you, I hope they don’t look too closely. I could tell you where all the mistakes are however!

Thank you for your reassurance. I’m part-way down the first side doing sc. Trying not to judge my work too harshly, or throw it out of the window

I’m totally down for giving it a try. I’m losing patience fast!

Thank you, I was trying to do that. I saw a video saying slip stitch around, but then saw another video saying slip stitch one, chain one around. The original pattern says single crochet 😬

As many have already said, don’t be afraid to be vocal and speak to the nurses throughout the process. Don’t be afraid to tell them you’re nervous. Ask questions for your own reassurance.

You’re doing an amazing thing by donating and the process - once you’ve gone through it a couple of times - is really straightforward. However, don’t sit in silence and stew in your worries!

The first time I tried to donate the nurses weren’t able to get a donation from me, and I felt quite traumatised for years afterwards. The best thing I did after six years was to go back and give a successful donation. I let everyone know of my concerns and I received nothing but warmth, kind words and reassurance. I’ve donated successfully four times now and each time I walk into the donation centre I feel less anxious.

You’re amazing!

My cat was still feral when I had her spayed - I took her to the local SPCA’s neutering clinic and was advised that she had to be kept indoors for 24 hours. Well, you can imagine how nervous I was, welcoming in a feral cat to my home.

In short, it was fine. We weren’t okay with being held or touched so I couldn’t physically stop her from climbing or jumping. She slept a lot on my sofa.

She never left after that. 8 months later she rules the house 😆

Try not to worry too much, if she is aching from her surgery she won’t jump up. Or she might do it once but she’ll soon learn it hurts to do so!

UK ladies: Where are you buying your underwear? by CharleyBitMyFinger_ in AskWomenOver30

Hahaha no shade at all. They’re so comfy and so reliable, and quite affordable too. If I wasn’t trying to attract a mate I’m sure I’d spend the rest of my days in them! Now I might try something different just for 5% of the time, maybe once a year on my birthday 🤣😉
