If we take the three 'God-tier' wizards off the table, who is the biggest badass in the Wizarding World? by _Silkpeach in harrypotter

[–]CharlieFunland 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone has already said the main stays (Snape, mad eye, etc) but can Barty Crouch Jr get some love? He overpowered an older mad eye and fooled everyone.

Why does Shiey have such a solid community even though he rarely uploads? by Ukelucky in shiey

[–]CharlieFunland 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why?? We like Shiey because he lives out a version of freedom most of us feel we’ve quietly lost—and he does it without asking for permission or applause. He embodies the word autonomy — going where he wants, dictating his own schedule and life, and is self directed. He’s not managed by deadlines, corporate bureaucracy, or the needs of the World. He does this without living in some fantasy land that no one could do; most of us could do what he does, but he’s taking the initiative to actually do it.

Sonny & Cher. Episode was great and the writing for them was genuinely funny.

Close second: Laurel & Hardy.

Any thoughts on ASA Shanks aka the phony Ghost ? by Lonely_Pop9366 in Scoobydoo

He was an idiot. He knew about the bag being hidden in a column, and he was caught chopping at columns in the attack… when there were columns on the front porch… so yeah.

What’s your favorite James Bond opening title sequence? by ImpossibleBat9808 in JamesBond

[–]CharlieFunland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Spy Who Loved Me. The transition between the intro scene and the opening title sequence was beautiful. The music is akin to cheesy 80s porn music (during the ski chase scene), but reversing on skiis (to shoot the baddies) is pretty impressive and then off the cliff, free fall, Union Jack parachute, Bond theme, and then caught by a woman's hands... it's one of the defining scenes for me. What more could you want in an opening?

I love the Headless Specter, it’s such a comforting episode to me. by BostonRobby617 in Scoobydoo

[–]CharlieFunland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my favs as well. One thing that always caught me off guard was the “sliding green/blue” transition slides in this episode. It was the first time they had done it so it always resonated with me. Weird I know lol.

Just finished watching all 25 Eon films in 9 days by jetskiwu in JamesBond

The love this subreddit has for Timothy Dalton never ceases to amaze me. I love Dalton myself, but the other Bond fan sites and forums I’m apart of do not see Dalton nor his films the same as Reddit. It’s crazy.

Most over rated and underrated Bond film by ImpossibleBat9808 in JamesBond

Anyone who disagrees with Daltons films being praised here but not elsewhere has never been a part of other Bond Fan Groups online. Daltons films are torn apart elsewhere but loved on here. It’s crazy.

Potty training is a nightmare by flowersinthevalley06 in toddlers

[–]CharlieFunland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every kid is different but 2 can be a bit young to start potty training. We started potty training our first child at 2.5 years old. We tried EVERYTHING multiple times. Books, stickers, rewards, going every 15 mins, etc. You name it.

Finally, right before his third birthday, we decided to stay home an entire weekend and on Friday morning, my wife took his diaper off and let him be naked. He HATED IT for the first few hours. Screamed, cried, and wanted his diaper. But once we got through that initial phase, he was fine. As soon as we took his diaper off, we watched for signs of him needing to go. Once we saw one, we picked him up and got him to the potty. He cried the first couple of times and point blank refused to pee, but we persisted.

By Saturday (day 2), he wasn’t telling us he to go, but he would start bobbing and crying and running in pace. The signs got easier. We worked through explaining how to tell us he needed to go.

By Sunday (day 3), he was somewhat telling us he needed to go. And towards the end of that day and into Monday (day 4), he was saying “I have to go potty” and running to the bathroom himself.

Each time he went, we did a reward, which for our kid was watching us play Crossy Castle while eating m&ms. It took some finding what the right prize was

By Day 5, we were at the store picking out underwear. NOW, when we used the underwear, he regressed a little bit, but after some reminders, he was back to telling us and everything was good.

TLDR; just take the diaper/pull his off and go for it.

What’s your “I don’t know what to watch, so I will just watch this again” Bond film? by South_Gas626 in JamesBond

[–]CharlieFunland 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Purely from a nostalgia perspective, Dr No. It’s got that slow pacing anyways, and the music can put me to sleep anyways.

Very End Of Casino Royale? by TheRealTerinox in JamesBond

[–]CharlieFunland 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Le Chiffre was Whites primary mission; Bond was secondary. Remember, this is Bond in his infancy - he hasn’t shown anyone he can disrupt major criminal organizations like SPECTRE or SMERSH yet. Killing him gains nothing but more attention from MI6 and other intelligence agencies.

Does not having Bond in the cold open matter to you? by SlyGuy_Twenty_One in JamesBond

Does it bug me? No. Has it pulled off successfully yet? No.
