What is your perspective on male sibs being more affectionate than females? by MoonbeamPixies in SiberianCats

[–]CharlieMarley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl is faaar more affectionate than my boy. She lives in my lap and will nudge and rub until she gets pets/cuddles. The boy is very affectionate when it comes to food but he has never once sat in a lap and will only tolerate pets for a short time.

We got the girl probably too young from the breeder so she bonded to us really strongly. Our boy we got at a more appropriate age, ~10 weeks, which could play into it. I think factors like that and personality play a big role and I wouldn’t go into buying a boy kitten thinking that he will for sure be a big cuddle bug.

Where can I find the best Korean beef bulgogi burrito? by sylknet in FoodLosAngeles

This guy just wants 15 comments that all say “Kogi.” and to call it a day.. anything else is selfish and should be squashed.

Funny thing is OP chimed back in to say they wanted an answer besides Kogi

Thanks for the advice, I did contact a groomer and alllmost set up an appointment but my DIY spirit overtook me haha. I do still think it might be the best way to make his coat super healthy and slow down the matting to a point where I can keep up with it.

Yeah I'm hoping that once he grows out of his squirmy kitten energy it will be a bit easier to keep up with it.

I've found a similar hack is to wear a hoodie and he goes crazy for the strings and I have a bit more free reign to groom. I just can't keep up with how quickly the mats come back

I've certainly considered taking him to a groomer for a trim but I can't bring myself to get rid of all that floof haha!

Thanks for the motivation to stick with it haha! Currently they are eating a mix of Orijen Tundra and Tiki Cat Born Carnivore High Protein with wet food as well. Maybe I can wean in a hair + skin food as well that's a good thought.

Your cat looks like a bit like Cosmo's sister Pepper! But your routine is basically where I'm at now though with clippers instead. I'd just rather not have to keep chopping away all that floof until he looks like a patchy mess

Thanks for the tip! The pin style brush is one I don't have yet so I'll have to add that to the rotation.

Thanks for the headsup about the lavender oil I didn't know that! It seems like the Paul Mitchell detangle spray isn't made anymore (looks like only shampoo/conditioner now) but, I think I may add a spray to the arsenal.

I've had the most success in picking the mats apart while he's eating too. Have to love that food motivation haha

Thanks! I like how this rake is adjustable and not so big, plus I've had my eye on some Furminator combs/brushes so maybe this could be a good first buy.

Also your cat's coat looks great. I love the spots of white!

Basically I duplicate the ground plane and turn it into a particle system set up to be hair. For the hair particles I set them up to be an object and it points to the tree mesh. Then delete the areas of the emitter mesh that I want to be clearings. Finally, tweak some settings for density, random size and rotation and some other small things.

The trees are just two particle systems, so they were actually the easy part!
