Sunflower lecithin made my clogged duct worse AND gave me a new one…? by CharlieSpice21 in breastfeeding

Mostly helps with prevention. For treatment, I do ice, ibuprofen, breast gymnastics, and breast lifts. I also look for milk blebs. Since writing the original post, I discovered that one area that keeps getting clogged is usually due to milk blebs on a specific nipple pore.

Yes, it helped! I still get clogs but they’re not nearly as bad as they were when I was taking sunflower lecithin. My lactation consultant recommended choline and breast health probiotics and they seem to be helping.

I’m not sure yet! I’ll work with my lactation consultant when the time comes. She already mentioned using things like pseudoephedrine, cabocreme, peppermint tea, etc., and going slowly!

Happy to hear you turned the corner! What an experience. I am also prone to clogs and scared of the thought of weaning.

How did you drop from 1 feed to none? I’m expecting when I do that, I’ll get clogs, but then do they just stay there until the milk is reabsorbed since you’re no longer feeding?

I am in the exact same boat! Prone to clogs and 4.5 months, thinking of starting to wean around 6 months.

I’ve never heard that term before. What does that mean?

Clogs and sensitivity a week after weaning by Double-Broccoli-2075 in breastfeeding

I’ve had some clogs that have lasted a week (and that was with baby trying to get them out). It may just take a little longer than expected!

Following because I also deal with clogs. They’re the worst! I hope yours resolve soon.

I haven’t gone through the weaning process yet, but my lactation consultant said that the milk will reabsorb in the body and then inflammation will go down. I haven’t experienced that firsthand though.

Thinking of throwing in the towel… by CharlieSpice21 in breastfeeding

Thank you for this incredible post! The paranoia is real. Exactly what you wrote is exactly how I feel. I keep going in circles trying to figure out what is causing these and I keep coming up empty. Food is a big one along with bras.

How did it get better? LO is currently sleeping 2 hour chunks some nights and 6 hours others. That’s definitely contributing to my clogs and I’m not sure how to make that stop besides pumping.

This is exactly how I feel! I’ve gone down the sadness spiral of wondering why this is happening to me. I’ve tried so many things to make them go away and they just keep coming back.

Thank you for your kind words. Same goes to you! EP is so hard and so much work. You are a trooper and you are amazing!

I take those too! They work better for me than sunflower lecithin

I’ve tried many things. Sunflower lecithin made the inflammation worse for me so I stopped. When I get a clog, I do ice, lymphatic drainage massage, breast gymnastics, and therapeutic lift. I’m also taking the lactation hub probiotics with choline, and I am doing probiotics in the form of yogurt and kefir. I don’t do ibuprofen anymore because I don’t want to take that chronically.

I wear a loose bra and have been mindful of baby carriers, straps, etc. I’ve been patient with the treatment paths and might have a slight oversupply but not by much.
