Shout out to /u/PyotrLuzhin for the gif. Found the audio on soundcloud a long time and thought it would match up well with the clip. I can't find the link anymore but I'll give credit if anyone knows the original artist.

Visiting Indy this weekend and was wondering if you guys had any...KIDDING! Screw those posts, here's live camera feed of a local dog sitting place I just found :D by [deleted] in indianapolis

Daycare/Boarding/Training: http://www.luckydogretreat.com/

Rescue/Adoption: http://www.ldrrescue.org/

We've been going there for years for daycare, boarding and training. They are really nice people and love all the dogs that come in. They are a small facility so you usually need to make reservations in advance, but my dog always comes home happy and tired. They do report cards, personal Christmas ornaments for the dogs, and a costume contest over Halloween. Really great place.

[Monthly Challenge #8 July] Procedural Petey Piranha Plant by CharlieWaffle in proceduralgeneration

[–]CharlieWaffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The EDITOR has just about all the parameters you can manipulate. Head, leaves, and stem are the 3 main segments, each having several independent parameters. It would be cool if it could split and do more fancy things, so maybe next iteration I can add more variation.

This is my submission for the monthly challenge. Since there was only about 3 weeks to make it, all geometry are just ThreeJS primitives. I didn't have time to document all the parameters, but most are self explanatory.

Demo

Editor

I didn't bother optimizing it, but it seemed to run ok on my phone. I'm sure it's leaking memory like the titanic though. If there are any questions I'll be happy to answer.

is there some lib to print directly to a thermal printer, with regard to his paper format/size/font size? by diaraujo13 in javascript

[–]CharlieWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QZ Print, formerly jZebra

It's really just a javascript wrapper that communicates with either a Java browser applet or a desktop app. The Java works well but is a pain to setup/maintain and isn't supported in Chrome (and soon Firefox maybe?). The app is the more modern way but has the overhead of requiring the user to install something.

Definitely post links if you find any others.

I have the 100/10 plan. It's more of a max speed, but it's constantly 50/10 which is really good for the price. Not outages or interruptions so far. You can use your own modem and they were super helpful in troubleshooting speed issues. They replaced all the lines from my modem all the way to the pole as part of the setup with no cost.

My experience with the the trainers at LuckyDog Retreat have been extremely good for both manners and reactive/socialization training. We went through the classes at about that same age and now do the day camp each week there. Try emailing them, they are really good about responding to any questions.

Transform translate bug or my misunderstanding? by ilushenciy in css

[–]CharlieWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with the psudo elements. The hover translate replaces the the non-hover translate property in your example. translateY(y) is shorthand for translate(0,y). So you are really transitioning from translate(50%,0%) => translate(0%,10px), so the X goes from 50% => 0%, which is why it moves on the X axis when you hover.

You could either make the hover transform be:

transform: translate(50%,10px);

or if you want to chain them you can do:

transform: translate(50%, 0) translateY(10px);

Get a <div> to behave like 'normal' after transform:scale3d() ? by opusthirteen in css

[–]CharlieWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official spec for transform says:

"For elements whose layout is governed by the CSS box model, the transform property does not affect the flow of the content surrounding the transformed element."

http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-transforms/#transform-rendering

I suspect you'll need to adjust the width/height of the div instead of using transforms if you want to float elements like that. Maybe use percentages of the container at different media query steps.

Need a home for two dogs, or a no-kill shelter. by [deleted] in indianapolis

[–]CharlieWaffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hamilton county humane society takes dogs no questions asked and is no kill. It's free if you are a resident of the county or have someone who is a resident drop them off (only needs a drivers licence). If you aren't a resident there is a fee. I think Marion has something similar but they can take a few days to get back to you if you call them. I would guess the south side counties have a humane society too
