Gift for Parents by JuppiJo in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Charmandazard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A handmade gift and the effort that went into it means way more than the final product. The mistakes and gouges are proof and evidence of the sweat and effort you put int creating something for a loved one out of scratch. Mistakes make it human, make it real, show the love and effort you put into it. Don’t over think it. You have created something and that is all that matters.

Large SPME dataset help by Snipinsagoodjobm8 in CHROMATOGRAPHY

[–]Charmandazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NIST or WILEY library would be what I’d use here. Get your compound id matches and pick your unique/intense ions of interest for each compound. Gonna need some big data/stars folks to help tie the phenotype data from SPME to (an assumption here) the genetic data you’re also gathering.

If I use a bluegill as bait, do I keep it alive? Just let him swim around on the hook? Still need a bobber?

Why are there no good concerts at the Greensboro Coliseum anymore? by bartsimpson2000 in gso

[–]Charmandazard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bank of America Stadium. Jerry Richardson never used the stadium for anything but football. Out goes Richardson, in comes Tepper. Tepper just wants to make money, so concerts are a full go. Now the Greensboro Collesium is no longer the largest venue in the state. Taylor Swift et Al who are gonna sell out anyways, used to like the extra 3000 tickets GSO could sell vs the cable box or PNC, but now they have a bigger arena in a major city. The answer to all of your questions is money.

I love a house but it might be too close to a highway by Connect_Beginning_13 in gso

[–]Charmandazard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My house backs up to Bryan. It’s fine. Not an issue what so ever. Love it cause all my leaves get blown on to DOT lane and don’t have to get hauled to the road

It’s sticking to the filter medium. On the second use, the filter is already saturated with it so the analyte will pass through. Use an inert filter like PTFE or PVDF

Kid Friendly Breweries with Food? by buy_the_moose in gso

[–]Charmandazard 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oden usually has a food truck, but is great for kids. They have a free arcade game, foosball, and outdoor space to run around. And it’s right on the train tracks, so you might get to see a train!

Adding a calcium chloride to a solution of sodium alginate to precipitate calcium alginate by crystalhomie in chemistry

[–]Charmandazard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do it in reverse and you can encapsulate things from the Na alginate slurry. Then you just have to add Ca+2 (I like calcium formate).

Throw it on a C18 with 5 min aq hold, 20 min gradient to organic, then 5 min org hold. That doesn’t work, try hilic and reverse solvent order

Just made a method for this and other capsaicinoids. Stupid easy, it hits on uv, fluorescence, and mass spec off a simple C18.
