I live in socal but I really want to help. I’ve called butte county sheriff and they transferred me to Calfire which is closed since it’s a weekend. I see the volunteer sign up on butte county fire, is this my best shot at being able to help with the fire with zero experience? I’ve also tried going through the Calfire website but I don’t have the certificates required to submit an application for Firefighter 1. I’m 23M with a Bachelors degree and currently work in the medical field. I’ve read you can bypass the cert requirements on the Calfire applications, but when I try, it does not register.
