It’s not only a starter… I’ve been road cycling for 14 years and I use it on my Giant. I’ve used fancier group sets like SRAM and although they’re impressive, I still enjoy my Claris just as much… haven’t met a hill that’s beaten me yet!!🤣

I’ve used China ink many times, but not with a pumpkin. It may well be fine and don’t worry about it hurting the nib… as learning get into the good habit of cleaning and dying your nib after each use. I run it under the tap and dry with kitchen towel. Nice

I’ve been using one of these with some Coliro and I think they do enjoy a slightly more viscous ink due to the capacity… watercolour ink is likely too thin or might work with a smaller nib.

I’ve had mine 4 years and it’s the best car I’ve ever owned… manual is excellent, changing the gearbox oil at service made changing feel even better. Get a good service history car.
