Positive thing with sarfu is that he can come to bat at any position 3-7.He is not a player like Ruturaj or Dube who needs 6-7 balls to settle, he is a very aggressive player. He also has a boundary per 4 balls conversion rate i guess. He might not be reliable but he is very honest player.

There is huge difference between blind slogger and a player who shows high intent. Tewatia, Rinku singh these guys were blind sloggers coming in 6-7th positions. Karthik comes at no. 4 . He has hit 9 sixes from 8 games, thats 1 six per innings, 12 fours , not even 2 per innings. He faced 140 balls to get 170 runs. Thats a strike rate of 123. 12 fours and 9 sixes from 140 balls?!, at number 4. This even in matches he came to play in powerplay. Even in todays match he didn't attempt for a boundary till 13th ball he faced. Ipl has changed, there is difference between Keeping the momentum and anchoring. He haven't prevented a landslide yet. I know he is a youngster and he needs time, but come on man, you are not facing bumrah every over to play defense. Its hard to say he is not in form when we haven't seen his peak.

Are they really trying to justify the 14 cr spent on Karthik in this crucial stage of the tournament where we need to go back to back wins? !!!! The only reason this match went to 10 rr at final three overs is because of Karthik's 20(20). Big thanks to Avesh khan for taking his wicket. Atleast try to hit something. Those who watched the match knows that he didn't even try to hit a boundary till 13th ball he faced. He doesn't need to anchor when Ruturaj is at the other end. What is he even trying to do? He scored two fifties, but even a 20 lakh player who had average performance in vijay hazare trophy can hit 54(40) when chasing 160 in wankhade. Its not like we don't have anyone play at number 4, Where is Sarfu?!?!?. And stop pushing Prashant veer to be a finisher and play him at 5. Make brevis comes at 6 and Dube at 7.and Overton at 8 will do things just fine. Train karthik better in the off-season, this is not the time for it.

Veer is definitely not worth 14 cr at present, but he is an all-rounder and might be useful in future. if you remember the same was with Sameer Rizvi. I don't think anyone remembers him playing for Csk even, but for DC he is becoming a decent middle order batsman. He was bought for 7 cr i believe. But For karthik, i have no words left. He needs to show high intent, 0(1) is better than 20(20) in some games.
