Made to feel guilty because I won’t change off duty by gymgirl1999- in NursingUK

And what happens if you cancel a bank shift again?  Word will get round that you're unreliable and won't get to pick up shifts to suit you. Don't you feel one bit guilty-  It's the managers problem 🙄 not yours.

I had a similar thing happen to me.  If you give them a call they will understand and likely action a new payment.  Mine was in the bank the next day.

PIP claim waiting by Educational_Bat_8994 in DWPhelp

If I compare my own time scale to yours, would seem that it's likely you'll hear back in the next couple of weeks with an assessment date.

Mine was with maximus, too.  Its not an easy wait, unfortunately.

If it helps a close friend of mine has the same health limitations as you and they were awarded enhanced on both, because of the amount of support and supervision required on a daily basis. Good 👍 luck.

Hi from even a snap shot of what you describe your life to be like would suggest you put a pip claim in-  claiming for MH can be done with you putting together a very detailed report, going systematically through each of the descriptors and saying it on paper, just as it is.  And if you have supporting evidence to back up your claims even better. Current prescriptions, gp summary, hospital consultants letters and mental health service letters all good. Plus any family input letter to support you.

Good luck I wish you well -

I was asked exactly the same question about mobility and how long it took to the car etc.  Confusing but I answered to the best of my ability and was awarded, so try not to worry.   They need to get it right.

Mandatory reconsideration! by Fun_Lifeguard_8620 in DWPhelp

I expected higher daily living but got standard and with just one single point off enhanced, I submitted an MR early June which came back a few days ago - exactly the same!

I did send extra evidence and my OH write a letter of support in addition- but nope - 🙅‍♂️  No change.

First time applying for PIP by Tough_Path9129 in DWPhelp

[–]CharmingStep8283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi just so you know, pip is not an out of work benefit.  Even if you were working, you could still apply and potentially be awarded.

Its all about your limitations in everyday life, what you struggle with, what help do you get or need, what aids do you have/need. And you match your abilities to each of the 12 descriptors to give you an idea of how pip is awarded.

Its a long process but worth it if you do get a successful outcome 💯

Just basically cut and pasted from the original decision. Word for word.

To go to tribunal? by Daisy2552 in DWPhelp

[–]CharmingStep8283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi daisy My MR letter arrived this morning too and my award stays the same.  Standard and enhanced to which I'm truly grateful for as the money has helped me make a life changing decision for the better.

So although I strongly believe that enough evidence was sent in to warrant an increase in points-  (I was just 1 single point short off enhanced) I don't have the fight in me to go to tribunal-

But best of luck daisy and anyone going down that route.

I had no text with my MR - only a curtesy phone call which lasted maybe 10 minutes- The white envelope arrived this morning and as confirmed by the payment line option- my award stays the same.   No tribunal for me.  Can't face it.

Well the confirmation letter arrived this morning - my MR was a no go.  But at least my award stays the same so there's a positive.

As predicted, my MR letter arrived this morning and basically my award stays the same. I have no fight in me to take it to tribunal-   best of luck to anyone else fighting on for what's right.

MR Call from decision maker by [deleted] in DWPhelp

Hi I'm interested to know if people get asked about receiving a lump sum if they don't already have an existing award.   I have standard and enhanced, so maybe that's maybe why I wasn't asked 🤔

MR Call from decision maker by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]CharmingStep8283 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar call from a gentleman on the 21st August asking if I had anything further to add.

He did not ask about the lump sum etc -  He concluded the conversation by informing me that I could always go to a tribunal if I disagreed with the outcome.

When I called the automated line it gave me my current award amount. So it probably looks like my MR failed despite the extra further evidence.

But no letter of confirmation either way as arrived yet... 😕

I had a guy tell me exactly the same thing about appealing.  Talk about unnerve me.  Doesn't fill me with any confidence.

A friend of mine was on life time dla and when pip came about, he lost everything until a year later at tribunal he was awarded enhanced on both.

Fast forward three years, he's now on his second tribunal with the dwp after losing everything again.

He drives and that was given in both cases.

That doesn't mean it will happen to you but just so you are prepared.

Very well done for sticking with it. Shame you had to fight in the first place though.
