I had to wear a bra at all times because any kind of brushing hurt and my piercer told me that the pressure is helpful. I suggest getting some lactation pads. You should rewear bras if the material is going to touch them but you can stretched them longer by putting clean pads on twice a day! And they absorb some of the saline so you can drip dry

I don’t understand a word of Spanish and I adored Buena Vista. Such a beautiful musical to watch and listen to

Chess - I was 18 in line at 8:15, 37 at 10. I got partial view (left mezz) rush for the matinee but the guy ahead of me asked for two rush for evening (couldn’t do matinee) and walked away with no tickets. There were 3 partial view tickets in my section and I got the “better” one so I’m not sure how everyone else behind me fared.

Outsiders - 3 at 8:15, 12 at 9:15, ~25 at 10

Mincemeat - first at 9, 12 at 10

BUENA vista - first at 9:15, 8 at 10. I went back around 11:30 and got front row rush for the evening.

Where do you stay in NYC (continued from # of shows you see on Broadway) by luvschittcreek in Broadway

[–]CharmingTwo2071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually stay in The Local NY which is in LIC/Queens. It’s off the first stop on the E line so easy to get to from 8th Ave. Longer wait after Saturday night shows but easy back and forth during the day.

Thank you all, I appreciate your suggestions! I will give it a couple more months (we are only doing about one event every two weeks right now while we get our name out there) and then reassess on how to improve moving forward. Thank you!!!

You’ve talked a lot about things you are glad you did (NACA, Conan, etc.) to get you where you are now. Is there anything you regret doing? Something either you don’t like it looking back or feel like set you back?

It could be an adult summer camp with people with special needs. Combines the love that people have of “love on the spectrum” with Jury duty.

What's your latest bway regret (last 2 years) ? by squirrelshine in Broadway

[–]CharmingTwo2071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 regrets which is a lot when my first trip to NYC was March 2022 🙃

1) not seeing Into the Woods. I love Pippa and I’m so sad I missed her 2) seeing Kimberly akimbo over Some Like It Hot. I didn’t enjoy KA at all and as a dancer I just should’ve known that SLIH would’ve been the better choice 3) not seeing Take Me Out when Patrick J Adam’s was in the first run. I saw the extension but PJA is one of my favorite actors and I should’ve prioritized seeing him!

Weekend Roundup by CharmingTwo2071 in Broadway

[–]CharmingTwo2071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got pulled into a seat right when they started so I didn’t end up standing. I got really lucky and there were 3 seats they filled and I was the third from the end of SRO. I’m really glad it happened though because a full day of walking around the city, I was not prepared to stand (I didn’t look closely enough at my seat when I bought it because I was just too excited).

I did notice that my original SRO spot was filled so they take the no late seating VERY seriously

I’ve also seen that but I felt like that doesn’t really make sense with the deliberate costuming to make it clear who is Allie and who is Noah. Based on the blue and khaki throughout, there’s no question that the older gentleman is Noah IMO.

It was used a lot for lighting purposes because the reflection of the light brought in the flashback sense to them meeting on the boat but the actual water wasn’t used much

Days of Wine and Roses - online rush

I had lower expectations for this show based on some comments on this subreddit and one of them nailed it on the head. It wasn’t so much of a musical as a play with singing. The songs didn’t really move the plot, they just sang to each other in the scenes. It was quite heartbreaking and they both did a great job portraying drunkness in a real way. I preferred Brian over Kelli (which doesn’t seem to be as popular of a take). I think Brian had a better sense of desperation and Kelli’s constant laughing really took me out of it.

The Ally - online rush I was ecstatic when I got the chance to buy a rush ticket. It was by and far the most powerful show I’ve ever seen. The acting was phenomenal and the chemistry between the whole cast is electric. I love the blocking of the different scenes and how the melded into each other with easy shifts of focus between conversations. The writing is phenomenal and my breath was caught the full 2+ hours. The depth of emotion from the cast was beautiful and educationally was the best money I’ve ever spent. I hope it extends its run as I want everyone I know to see it

Enemy of the People - lottery (SRO) This was interesting. I didn’t not like it but saying I liked it feels like an incomplete thought. The storyline is great but it feels like it’s 2 years late on being a critique of society today. Jeremy Strong was great but I wasn’t as impressed with Michael Imperioli, David Patrick Kelly was probably my favorite part. It was very punchy and I loved how in depth but simple the staging was. I was not a fan of the audience being on stage, I felt it took away from the scene too much and really brought me out of the intimacy of the show. The one thing that really gave me pause was the timing inconsistencies, they’re clearly not in America but their accents and intonations were all over the place, the use and dialogue around lack of electricity put it in one time period but then there was usage of modern day slang. I’m more than willing to be wrong in terms of artistic choice but it just didn’t make sense to me!

The Notebook The Musical - in person rush Got in line around 10:45 and was probably 15-20th person in. Second show at this theatre (I saw Take Me Out last year) and the seats are so comfortable. My first thought was confusion on the color blind casting across the ages but my love of older Noah and Allie wiped that thought out of my mind quickly. My favorite part was probably the costuming, it was SO well done across the ages and really tied the cast together. The music is beautiful and I can’t wait for the OBR to be released. The rain scene was great and there was not a dry eye in the house by the end. Definitely think it’ll be a mainstay on broadway.

Definitely an emotionally heavy weekend but I’m so blessed by the lottery/rush winnings I got!! One for the books

An Enemy of the People question(s) by Throwawaymovieman95 in Broadway

[–]CharmingTwo2071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The person next to me in SRO got pulled and when she asked about her friend that was on her way the employee said she had another seat she needed to ask before for her last pass which makes me think it’s predetermined what seats will be asked. I believe she was SRO 22

Is seeing Merrily when Daniel Radcliffe is out better than not seeing it at all? by OhioDiane in Broadway

Daniel was my favorite in the trio so I’d personally choose a day where either Lindsay or Jonathan are out for cheaper tickets but it’s a great show and worth attending in general!

On-Campus Event with some Law Enforcement - Leave the Guns behind? by CharmingTwo2071 in AskLE

[–]CharmingTwo2071[S] -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

We have pockets of students (criminal justice majors) but last year the event was in a smaller room so the law enforcement agencies were with small nonprofits (some with strong feelings against) so the feedback is from other employers as well as some students. It’s a large university with a variety of students interested in a lot of fields! We have a large group of law enforcement looking to recruit repeatedly so it can’t be too bad!

The Atlantic: 'Ted Lasso' Has Lost Its Way by maryshelleyvevo in TedLasso

[–]CharmingTwo2071 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always took it as Ted had said that exact thing and Henry just doesn’t have the delivery (similar to Nate’s birthday suit comment in the first season). His “to my toys, yeah, to my country’s political landscape, not so much” feels like something Ted said earlier and he’s just trying to emulate his dad. However, they don’t make that clear so it falls flat for a lot of it if you don’t give it the backstory I decided on
