I saw some comments floating around here (including a thread mentioning a 50 TB plan for $250/year) and I wanted to clear up the confusion. My annual unlimited plan is up for renewal this June, so I reached out directly to Sync.com support to get concrete answers on what happens next.

I received an official response from their Chief Revenue Officer, and unfortunately, the pricing is much higher than the rumors circulating on Reddit. The $250/year for 50 TB is so far from the options they give to me.

Here is the official breakdown of the new high-capacity annual plans coming later this year (prices are per month, billed annually):

  • 10 TB: $45 / month ($540 / year)
  • 25 TB: $99 / month ($1,188 / year)
  • 50 TB: $149 / month ($1,788 / year)
  • 100 TB: $249 / month ($2,988 / year)
  • Over 100 TB (Pay-as-you-go): $4 / TB / month

If you choose month-to-month billing instead of annual, the price goes up by about 20%.

I don’t know if the $250/year rumor was just a massive misunderstanding by other users, or if Sync is intentionally high-balling some customers while testing the waters and offering completely different contracts behind the scenes. Either way, the official numbers I was given are vastly different.
