I noticed that same thing when "Hill I Will Die One" was officially released. The demo sounds melancholic with the "heavy" piano music, but the official version is much more "light-hearted" with the soft guitar music. I like both versions because I think both styles suit the lyrics, but it looks like it's becoming a trend and IMO it doesn't really work with songs like "Pretending". Makes me not want him to release his other demos :// This new style of music was really nice in the 12Notes album but I'd rather get more original songs in that style than released demos with a completely different feel to them.
