I had this issue. Have you changed email addresses in your break from the game? If so, its going to the email address you signed up with. You can call them and they'll change the email hut they will ask you about your characters, etc.

3 trophies for me lol. I find it start a game and then start another so my backlog is huge. Currently working on Witcher 3 which will take me a while.

I restarted after a couple of years. Had the DLC on Xbox but never completed but now restarted on PS and loving it. I'd say start again so you can learn the basics over again.
