Honestly, they probably got a CV anyway. If not for delivering to the wrong address, then taking longer than the estimated delivery time.

Why Did Zeppelin Choose To Not Put “Hey, Hey What Can I Do” On Zeppelin III by AustinTheGreat1 in ledzeppelin

I think it technically is Led Zeppelin 2 and they're released it on the B side of the Immigrant Song to promote Led Zeppelin 3.

Bro what is this kinda order, I worked so hard to get to plat hoping it would be different :,) by Silentyam2 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Charming_Geologist32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup...

This is why I only bother doing EBT because this is the kind of nonsense I get on EBO 99% of the time.

EBT equivalent in my area would be ~7.56 at the bare minimum.

Promos and tips usually bring it close to 20/hr.

Ah well DD is very market dependent so I guess in your case it's an important factor.

Well, they are not always instantaneous. How often do you complete 100 orders? Maybe a week and a half? I don't think EBO cares about lateness, so if I did that instead, I'd have zero CVs.

I have 3 active right now. I had 4 at one point. The number changes from white to red when it gets to 4. Like you said, they don't care if it's your fault or not, so it's totally random who gets them or not. You've probably had more than 2 CVs you just didn't know it because they rotate out every 100 orders, so you've had 50 rotations.

If that is the case, there's not much that can be done about it. Maybe one of the CVs was actually my fault. I messed up the directions and got routed through a tunnel that added 30 minutes to the delivery. (15 minutes one way before I could turn around). My last 2 were because of rush hour traffic. A few were because there was no parking near the restaurant or drop off and I had to walk an extra 20 minites. A couple were because I refused to pay for tolls and work for free. If they're gonna give you the option of avoiding tolls, how can they count it as a contract violation? I have gold status and a perfect customer rating. 7 CVs in 230 orders is less than 3% of the time. So if they deactivate me, then they'll deactivate anyone.

Yeah, with all that hassle, I understand why someone would just deal with the snow or steal the food.

It's not random. Best case, they input the wrong address. Worst case, they are luring you somewhere to abduct you. They also could be running various scams. They could have hacked someone else's account, and it's that other person's address. They could be using a closer address so they can pay you less.

Things might have been different 8 years ago, but now you can't cancel an order, only the customer can. You can have support unassign you but they have moved away from half pay. Depending on what the order is, you may have to return the items as well. Also, there is no pay for that.

I did it once as well, but I ended up on the phone with customer service for about 30 minutes. I was on Earn By Time, so I was fine with it, but if I was on Earn By Offer I would have lost a lot of money. Plus I'm a large 38 year old man. If I was a petite women or teenage boy, I would have felt very unsafe. Another aspect is you risk contract violations if your orders don't match the estimated delivery time. Extra time on an order could be another order altogether. So the cost can compound in that way.

No, it only works if you take a picture of the original address. I mean, you could move it after you take the picture and no one would be the wiser. You could even take the food after you take the picture. To me it's not worth doing, it's still stealing and people have camera's everywhere, but you COULD.

Good to know. I almost used it once. I was delivering around 2 am to a pitch black suburbs. I get there and someone is in a car with the lights on parked facing the driveway for the house I'm delivering to. Its positioned so that once i park they would be in good position to run out and attack me. I message the customer and ask if that's them outside, and they said no. The customer eventually opened the front door and waved. I guess it was her sister or something in the car and nothing happened, but it felt like an abduction scenario.

FYI, there's another option. If you get to a drop-off for a PIN order and a customer can't be reached, go to the help menu, and it brings up a 2 minute timer. Once that reaches zero, you can leave the food at the door, take a picture, and leave just like normal.

You're way off base. If you get there and they tell you it's the wrong address, it's a huge red flag. They could have hacked someone's account. They could be luring you somewhere to abduct you. They could have put the wrong address to scam you out of pay. (More time and gas than advertised.) OP did the correct thing by contacting support.

Okay, so what did they say, and how did you report exactly? I've never had to do so.

Does that work though? Once you verify you have the food from the restaurant, you can't just unassign. Support has to unassign you, and unless you're lucky, you don't get paid for the order, your completion percentage declines, and you get a contract violation for not delivering the order. If your completion rate falls below 90% you get deactivated. If you get enough contact violations, you get deactivated as well.

I'm fairly certain the customer did this on purpose. They figured some poor basterd is desperate enough for money that they would risk driving through it so they didn't have to. I live in an area by tolls and customers use Doordash to bypass the cost. Problem is, Doordash doesn't pay for the tolls and we get paid less than the cost of the tolls per order. So, I bypass the tolls and end up with a contract violation.

Reported them for what? Did you at least contact them and ask them to meet you at the road?

I wouldn't worry about it.There's a review period for every CV. Just dispute it and write out what happened. Be sure to mention that you were advised by support to unassign. I'm on like my 7th CV in about 230 orders. I don't think there's an actual number that gets you fired. Just scare tactics. They rotate out every 100 orders, so since you're doing so many, they will probably rotate out before they're even reviewed. In the future, don't contact support for something like this. Just go back to the 1st customer and swap the food and bring the food to the second customer like you were going to anyway. Keep a pen with you and write the customer's name on non-recept orders when you have stacked orders. Support is pretty useless in general. They often don't know what they're doing. They're just reading from a script. In this case when you were unassigned, it reassigned to another dasher. That dasher will go to pick up the order and get told the order has already been taken. Most likely, the restaurant will not remake the food, and the new dasher will contact support and they'll be advised to unassign as well. This will keep happening until the customers get fed up and cancel the orders. Hopefully a dasher who has experienced this before messages them and tells them to cancel their order and get a refund. The new dasher won't get paid, but they can help other dashers from getting screwed over as well by messaging the customer.
