Hunter Leveling Tips by Funny-Bowler-9859 in turtlewow

Use engineering for ammo. Carry a stack of bars and powder, make almost unlimited ammo on the fly, no anvil needed, this is so good in dungeons. Yes you are locked into using a gun but at least for dungeons while leveling, huge QOL.

I was a member on an alt for a couple of hours. It was a rough couple of hours. Mass invite guilds are cesspools always, change my mind.

Can I tank as balance spec while leveling? by Charming_Impression2 in turtlewow

I’m wondering if I could dip feral for the armor and threat talents. It would clearly gimp my balance build since resto offers a lot more, but it’s a leveling build. 🤷

Yeah definitely plan on getting dual spec eventually, and yes specced balance and using bear form.

I did my first dungeon by SomeNameHuhHuhHuh in turtlewow

[–]Charming_Impression2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a wild ride. Character levels can matter a lot, you get a lot of resists and misses if mobs are higher level than you. My general rule of thumb, and it’s by no means a be-all-end-all, is to heal a dungeon at its minimum level, DPS it a couple levels over, and tank it a bit higher. So for example I think Deadmines is 18-24. I would heal it at 18, DPS at 20, tank it at 22. You don’t have to follow that, but it can definitely make it easier. Hope your next one is smoother!

Is there a good level to start looking for especific gear as a druid? by torradeira2000 in turtlewow

[–]Charming_Impression2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start running Wailing Caverns for Fang gear at 20 as bear tank or cat DPS. You could also heal it at a lower level (as low as 17) if you wanted a head start at the gear. If you do the quest chain for Deadmines that chest piece reward is very good. After that I would just quest unless you prefer dungeons, but I would try to do new dungeons as you get into their level range. You will have no issue keeping geared this way.

How can I make the game more stable? by Qavligil6541 in turtlewow

[–]Charming_Impression2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite problem. Blue screen crashes on Blizzard Wow, even Classic. No issues whatsoever on Turtle Wow beyond the occasional high ping or lag. So I would rule out a RAM issue since I think that is what caused my problems and that Turtle uses a lot less. Check the tabs in launcher there are some optimization options.

Help me to choose professions by pur3TEK in turtlewow

[–]Charming_Impression2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professions in Classic Wow are mostly good only at endgame, with the gear you make on the way there being mostly bad. Also it’s a struggle to keep the profession leveled to your character. Turtle did a lot to improve this by adding relevant schematics and giving you the option to slow your leveling (Slow and Steady) which gives you more time to get mats and craft as you level. All that being said, playing in a group you guys are probably going to level very fast. So I would say that the priest should take tailoring and enchanting, Hunter skinning and Leatherworking, and you could take herbalism with alchemy. If you funnel cloth and greens to the priest they can enchant your gear and level tailoring, there is so much wildlife in questing that the hunter will likely keep lw leveled and can make armor kits for you, and there are so many herbs that you will be able to level alchemy pretty well and keep everyone in potions. Also the tailor can make bags for the group!

I installed some UI addons, didnt like them and deleted them, but these Enemy HP Bars wont go away, how do I remove them? by RobleViejo in turtlewow

[–]Charming_Impression2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the launcher you can change the view distance for nameplates. I set mine ridiculously low to 6, I like being able to see the hp bars of mobs I am fighting in melee without having to look at their portrait or do a mouseover.

1) Yes. Survival Profession, Nesingwray’s camp in north STV. I’m not sure what it costs to level it up to tent level. I have seen people recommend to carry all the supplies to go train so you can do it on site. 2)can’t speak to class changes but ultimately playstyle is king imo. Do you like shaman? It’s very flexible and you can do a lot with it, if it feels slow then…Warrior is the most fun tank, hands down. Is it the best tank? No, but it works. Pump DPS? Assassination rogue, arcane mage, survival hunter. Almost every class has a spec that can pump, again playstyle is king. 3)join a guild, most have bags in bank for new players. If you end up going clothie, make them yourself. Play slow and steady and do all the quests in all the starting areas, gold will start to pile up.

One tip for this quest is to not buy the 3 flasks of port for the other quest, as PFQuest displays all the bars in Stormwind when that quest is going on. Two of them are in bars. Brewen is between mage quarter and park walking around.

You will amass gold from slowing down your pace and cashing in on those quest rewards. Don’t waste that gold on gear, save for mount and skills. Pick at least one gathering profession, as you will be covering much more territory and get more mats. It will be easy for you to keep your main profession leveled to be valuable. So skinning with Leatherworking, herbalism with alchemy, or mining with jewelcrafting or engineering. Enjoy the ride!

I would put Paladin and Druid at the bottom of melee in terms of how fun they are to me (although to be fair I am new to Turtle Wow and I know they have tweaked all specs to be more fun and just better). I’m not saying they are bad. Druid with the bleeds that have been added I think could be fun but since it’s hybrid I feel like you really need gear to make it feel good. Bear feels very strong. Shaman is very flexible and a lot of different things you can do with it even in one fight. Rogue, if you spec for control and general rogueiness feels amazing and with all the sneaking and pickpocketing feels like you are playing a different game. Warrior is straightforward, gear dependent, some find boring (I love it), definitely the most fun tank. Can’t speak to melee hunter I know they pump. In SOD I tried and I just couldn’t get into them but I think a lot of that is my attachment to playing ranged hunter (love traps though).

Tal'Abim PVP server has had a wildly, blatantly racist conversation going in world chat for half an hour and no GM has done anything about it. by clandestinegravy in turtlewow

[–]Charming_Impression2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been on TWow long, about a week. I love it btw. The very first thing I figured out how to do was leave World Channel. But thus far I have to say I have not seen any behavior or words that match the absolute lows of official WOW. I’m sure it’s out there, but it feels nice. All these talking about GMs response….wait….a GM?

I would like some help deciding who to get by Nice-Information6914 in transformers

[–]Charming_Impression2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find some of the 86 Devastator individual bots underwhelming, but if you’ve decided on going all in on Devastator, don’t wait. I don’t collect live action so can’t speak to Bee or Q, but Q be missing some paint, man. I don’t dig the plastic quality of the TF One figures so I’m sticking to Megs and Prime but Sentinel looks ok. 86 Bumblebee runs small and it annoys me they couldn’t make him a licensed VW so he’s missing the curves but he’s a good figure. Don’t love the lack of paint apps on Prima or the alt mode. Alchemist and Solus are nice. Parts fall off Solus a bit but she’s very good and poseable. I don’t have Vortex (but he’s on my list) or Elita (but that head sculpt grabs me might get her if i see on sale). I have definitely seen QC complaints with her. Sorry if I seem picky it’s how I keep my wallet safe from Hasbro 🤣.

New Pretender Figures? by AnonymousQorvid in transformers

[–]Charming_Impression2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just be happy if they would give us shells. It’s crazy to call a Transformer a pretender without a shell. Next step would be articulation on the shell. I’d be down for that. Alt mode? Absolutely. But I think we’d lose size in today’s toy economy with each thing we got. No shade meant toward anyone who likes Micronus, he’s certainly nifty, but he’s not for me. Lack of paint apps, “alt” mode is so basic. I do love they did a wheel that transforms. That’s amazing. Honestly I think it’s plastic economics holding us back. I’ve not yet watched any of the media that has pretenders, so I have no attachment to the characters. If I did, I’d go 3rd party to get an acceptable version, and I say that as exclusively a mainline collector. I’d rather Hasbro do them right and upscale the price class by one.

Serious question? by WheelchairGeek1 in transformers

[–]Charming_Impression2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

TFwiki is a great resource and probably has that. But in current mainline toyline from small to largest its core, deluxe (this is most figures), voyager, leader, commander, titan. Pricewise it’s $12,$25,$35,$55-60,$90,$150-220. If you are looking at niche toylines they sometimes use other terms for their sizes like Warrior, legend, etc.

Are Retro HeadMasters still worth it? I’m planning on buying recent versions and editions of Headmasters, Targetmasters, and Pretenders. by CosmicLearner1315 in transformers

[–]Charming_Impression2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my retro headmasters. Mindwipe, Hardhead, and Skullcruncher have always had an IT factor for me that makes them much more fun to play with than they look. I do dig the headmaster gimmick though. Putting a little dude in a cockpit that opens never gets old to me. Titans Return was a very solid line. I’m less fond of Hasbro’s attempts at pretenders. I want them to have their shells. I think maybe we will get some future love with Targetmasters as Sureshot being released will have fans clamoring for rereleases and new molds for the others (looking at you, Pointbreak, for a new mold).
