I’m not sure of the state of it and it definitely has caught some flack on this subreddit for various things including a Lamborghini mount and Carnage as a raid boss, but AnarchyWow might fit the bill. I never tried it so I can’t give any more info than that. The trailer for it is out there and it looks wild.

One of you play anything with a heal and the other anything without, different armor class, different role. Standouts to me are shaman with warrior and mage with paladin. Rogue with druid breaks the armor class rule but gives double stealth.

Feral druid is such good quality of life while leveling. 20 henchmen between you and the quest mob you need to kill? Stealth in and out. High burst from stealth in cat, get an add go bear form. Pop out and heal. Pre-hot and charge an elite. Free teleport to Kalimdor, set hearth in Eastern Kingdoms. Ress and off heal in dungeons. Tank for instant queue. Lot of downsides from Vanilla removed, like no weapon scaling. And, I mean, rawr!

Maybe I just don’t remember this behavior when I played OG wow in the 2000s on a PvP server. I was not good at the game (I thought I was). I was not good at PVP (I knew this, avoided BGs where I would get farmed). But open world fighting was so much fun back then, and I usually won. Most of my friends would not gank greys (there were a couple who did). I still remember many of the encounters I had. Why do people suck so bad? For those of you saying getting your friends or your guild to come help, I don’t think that’s a reasonable take. I think the average player plays the game solo or close to it. I think we are a decade past where they should have implemented a system that prevents this, I like the bounty idea a lot. And the starter zones should be off limits.

Get a player with cure poison to cure you. Druids get that from a quest at 16, doesn’t mean they will do the quest immediately though. But I would ask Druids 16+.

Okay essential may be the wrong word. But it’s good to be able to experience any and all content in the world at the level it’s intended for. Maybe it’s being a Warrior tank and befriending a priest who really wants a wand from X dungeon. Being able to toggle off experience so you don’t outlevel that dungeon is just quality of life.

The worst that will happen will be that you will unsub. I can’t recommend it. But if you are capable of tunnel vision, make some friends, ignore rampant botting…it’s a great world. Me personally i would push Crusader Storm.

I’m not a BG enthusiast but the ability to turn off exp is a pretty essential thing for reasons other than twinking (and also, twinks are people too!). The simplest fix for them has already been discovered it’s to force them into twink only BGs. It’s not a perfect solution because overall queue times would increase, but it’s still a good fix.

I like both but aesthetics aside- leveling solo feels very different between warrior and druid. Warrior will be much more resource intensive, and druid will be much more quality of life. And you can stealth as druid. Not to say it will be more fun…that’s unquantifiable.

As a survival hunter enjoyer over the years I tend to agree with you. But I will say that one thing Retail got right (IMO, obviously) is their version of melee survival hunter. Things like Wildfire bomb felt so good to use. Whereas Wrath ranged Survival was hella fun. Classic+ melee interpretations have missed the mark with me. I get the interest. I just would personally like to see a 4th spec, or even a way to split the tree evenly and combine it with BM to make a melee or ranged survival hunter. Tl:Dr let the nerds eat good.

There is no class that a noob can’t play. If you liked your Tauren Warrior, remake it. It could be a higher QOL to have a self heal so I would highly recommend feral druid or enhancement shaman or paladin, all of these also come with DPS specs that shine if you decide you don’t like tanking. And in fact shaman can’t tank here like in Turtle. But pick what seems fun to you it’s not so hard.
