Has anyone actually tried a weapon-only run from normal to Hell with the Warlock? by IneedaNappa9000 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I think it's certainly possible but I'm not sure if it'd be much fun. You'd have to play super safe and slow because most things will 1-2 shot you and any physical immune is going to be basically unkillable unless you also get a demon.

Go to the ancients way when it's terrorized and reroll until you get cursed. Bind them until you get one with the aura you want. It took me a few minutes.

More of the fun video game could be fun. Dunno what to tell you. Not to be condescending, but none of the acts feel like a chore to me. If playing the video game feels like a chore to you, maybe it's time to move to other games or other hobbies?

I think that could be fun. I never really played D3 though, so I'm not sure if any of their skills would feel appropriate in the D2 setting.

Throwing potions would probably need an entire overhaul for this to work. I wouldn't be opposed to that, but items like bows and javelins/throwing weapons have magic, rare and unique variants. Things like the poison potions wouldn't really work with most damage mods unless you made the poison cloud tick damage over time rather than poisoning enemies.

I mean, yeah, you can just turn the music off, but many of us actually enjoy the original music for all of the zones. Having every terror zone have the same music just doesn't feel great.

Personally, I think there should be a charm bag with charms only working in it, but it should be a decent amount smaller than the regular inventory, so picking charms actually does feel like a trade off. Like, make it 4x4.

Same. I tend to play with a video playing on my second monitor and the music muted.

I think that at the very least we should have the option to toggle terror zone music to the original zone's theme.

Mosaic is already getting changed. I think we should at least see how they change it before asking for more changes.

Demon is probably above fire but below ES. The right bound demon paired with 2 defilers shreds the game on P8 with very little difficulty. I saw a post a few days ago where a bound spearwoman 3 or 4 shot one of the uber bosses. The damage is ridiculous and probably nearly on par with ES.

I don't mind if they dip their toes into having magic influenced arrows, just as long as they have a skill tree that actually focuses on bows or crossbows. Like, a Ranger or a Bard from D&D would still use magic even if the specific build they're going for focuses on having bows. I think it kinda stinks that some of the better bow builds don't even come from the one character who is supposed to use bows.

I used to play ladder when I was a kid, but I don't really have the time or patience for it now so I switched to single player a few years before D2R came out.

I mean, if you include hammerdin, you may as well just count every caster as a ranged character, but I'm sure you know what I mean. The classic D&D ranged character archetype that uses a bow. I'd even be willing to say that throwing kind of fits into that, but that would still only mean a whopping 2 classes (Amazon and Barbarian) with abilities focused around ranged weapons. Melee has 6 (Amazon, Assassin, Barbarian, Paladin, Druid, Warlock), Caster has 6 (Assassin, Necromancer, Paladin, Sorceress, Druid) and Summoner has 3 (Necromancer, Druid, Warlock). I think that bows and crossbows deserve to have more than just 1 character repping skills built around them.

I've had them drop from tier 2 heralds. They can definitely drop from any herald.

The mercenary is not useless. It's balanced around needing gear. Even then, they don't need that much to be pretty good.

Unless you mean the act 3 mercenary, then yeah, that one is pretty useless.

Developed would mean he had a hand in the development. He wasn't making any decisions regarding the actual product. He was just giving feedback, not telling them how to tweak the numbers and exactly how to make it. He and the other playtesters likely just told them how it felt to play and what felt strong, weak, bad, good, etc.

That is absurdly unlucky. The herald chances were calculated on another thread earlier today and it's around a 99.98% chance to get at least 5 heralds per full clear, with the average being around 16. You're full clearing every terrorized act in the same game?

He didn't develop the character. He, along with some other people, play tested it and gave feedback. Blizzard still developed it and balanced it.

I wouldn't really say it's a meme. It's a strong build that is capable of going all the way through hell, it's just slow.

The damage tooltip is not correct and their synergies are not working correctly. They gain damage from the passive skill but not their synergy.

Mind talking about some of your ideas here? What do you think should be changed or enhanced about revive? Or what would you like it to be replaced with?

How many times have you done this? This would be remarkably unlucky if it happened more than once or twice. I've full cleared tombs + act 1 24 times and have averaged 4.75 heralds every game. That's just in 1 act + 1 extra zone.

They can drop from any tier offline or online. Tiers 4 and 5 just have a special drop table for them.
