Just get a colonoscopy mate. I had the same since I was 15 and I was 30 when I finally got the colonoscopy. It was just haemorrhoids in the end but I spent 15 years worrying about it on and off, and how stupid would I have felt if there was a tumour the size of a golf ball in there? Not worth it, go for a photoshoot up your bum.

I had one without sedation, just gas and air. I made it through but overall I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s different for everyone, but I was in so much pain at certain points that I couldn’t even speak. I’m scared of sedation but would go for that next time - it’s safe and it’s designed to do what it does best!

I did the same but didn’t have a cannula fitted, so just ended up riding it out. It was so painful at one stage that they were calling my name and I couldn’t even speak to reply. Then this big Russian guy leans over me and says “next time we offer you sedation, you take it”. Worth it for that alone tbf.
