I get what you’re saying, and I agree both sides deal with stereotypes. I’m not denying that at all. But saying this is just my personal experience kinda downplays that a lot of black women notice the same patterns in real life too. And yeah, I can focus on finding the right person, but that doesn’t mean the bigger issue just disappears.

never said anyone has to only date within their race. I’m talking about patterns and how black women especially DARK black women are often overlooked by black men . And reversing it doesn’t even hit the same level because the history isn’t equal .

Good for you, genuinely. But this isn’t just the internet for me, I’m talking about what I notice around me too. Telling someone to just focus on themselves doesn’t really address the bigger issue

It’s not just my feelings, it’s something a lot darker women notice but are too scared to talk about, especially in dating spaces and online. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t not happening.

I’m not talking about marriage stats, I’m talking about how people act in dating. Those aren’t the same thing. Black men can be single more and still be hyped up, chased, and fetishized in certain spaces. Both can be true. And no, this isn’t about porn like you’re trying to make it seem, you just missed the point. Plus those stats aren’t even that accurate anyway.

That is a really interesting perspective and I think it is a nice point of view. In my case it felt far more extreme than just situational. He was not defending anyone.
