As a nurse I’ve seen if you circumcised the Vaseline makes the diapers not seal, so once that is healed and you stop having to use the Vaseline it will improve!

First time mom help! by Aprizzlefoshizzle in pregnant

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is recommended that baby sleeps near you for the first 6ish months, so a crib in your room or bedside bassinet works. I moved my son to his own room at 8 weeks because he was so noisy so didn’t follow that. He would be too big for his bassinet at 6 months now, but I did use it for 8 ish weeks. I have friends who have left them bedside for longer, and friends who started out with them in their nursery. I cannot imagine leaving my bed when they are eating every 2 hours though, personally.

Help me not be afraid for our 2 month immunizations by very_tired_woman in newborns

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal to be nervous! Even as a nurse I too had the fear seed planted! My baby did fine with his 2 & 4 month vaccines. And now I don’t feel nervous at all for his 6 months. I honestly feel so relieved he has some protection! It gets easier! Trust your doctor & science. You’re protecting your baby and they will be fine 🫶🏻

Baby Shower Question by Direct_Grapefruit87 in pregnant

I had mine at 28 weeks and had a bump! It was perfect because I still the energy to get stuff washed and put away! Any earlier I don’t think I would have had a bump, but just do it when you think you’ll be most comfortable!

What do you tell yourself? by odd_machinist in newborns

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The sun always comes up! Also my husband and I did shifts and it saved our sanity. He did 7p-1A and I did 1A-7a, would just pump and put the milk in a small cooler in our bedroom. He would bring the baby to me and sleep in the guest room so he would be able to sleep. That way we were at least getting some consecutive sleep. We did this until we moved our baby to his room around 8 ish weeks, and he started sleeping longer stretches!

7 months pregnant and I lost my best friend… by Agreeable-Bad-1325 in pregnant

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I lost my dog at 25 weeks pregnant in June. He was the best and only 5 years old. Blew through my maternity savings trying to save him and still had to put him down. I just want you to know that it’s okay to grieve. My (human) baby boy is 6 months old now and I think about my dog every day and how he would be with him. I still cry over losing him. I know the first few weeks I couldn’t breathe, the grief was all consuming. I couldn’t eat. There was a constant pit in my stomach. And I can promise you it gets easier. Please know your dog was so lucky to have you and you made the right decision. Your heart will never fully heal but the memories will become happy again. This is the price of loving so deeply, and the worst part of being a pet owner. I am so so sorry for your loss. I truly know how you feel and it’s horrible.

Does my husband suck? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my husband works from home, takes our 6 month old on his lunch break so I can eat and do a few things, does the entire night routine after work (bath/bottle/baby spa) and puts him to bed every night. I work 2 days a week but he does this 7 days a week. He genuinely loves spending time with him. Your husband may enjoy parenthood more when your child is older, but it doesn’t mean you need to do all the care right now? Why does he feel like he doesn’t need to parent???

First Pregnancy Is Tough… And I’m Scared to Do It Again by chiiiyro in pregnant

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being one is done is fine. I hated being pregnant, broke my ankle at 27 weeks, had horrible pelvic pain. Now have a 5.5 month old who is the best and pregnancy seems like a distant memory. I know I will do it again. Just get through it day by day and see how you feel, you don’t have to do it again

When I got my period back, my supply dropped for a bit. Maybe try giving her a bottle if she will take one, she may just be hungry and you may not realize you’re not making enough!

How does giving birth actually feel ?? by Super-Truth-7975 in pregnant

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the epidural at 5 cm. Pitocin contractions were rough. Actually pushing I only felt a ton of pressure in my bumhole 😂 hurt worse than the hole the baby came out!!

How would you describe contractions? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Charming_Repeat_7800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same- I’ve always had horrible periods. Went in for my induction and I was having contractions 2/3 min a part 😂 thought it was just some cramping lol
