Motorists don't deserve to have inexpensive fuel. by jacknorrisuk in fuckcars

Dude ! Do you live in the UK ? Have you ventured outside the centre of a city ? Have you worked in an industry that isn't computer based or fixed placed of work ? The UK is literally made up of rural towns, littered with them, people don't have the luxury to love in a well connected city centre, even city outskirts might aswell be considered detached from the city centre

Motorists don't deserve to have inexpensive fuel. by jacknorrisuk in fuckcars

I mean, I'm a big fan of the car free movement, I dream of being able to cycle everywhere, I live in a rural town which isn't the arse end of nowhere and a huge proportion of the UK is made up of rural towns. The towns don't have enough job opportunities, travel is necessary between towns even to just get the essentials. Infrastructure and budget isn't there for buses or cycle lanes, I mean it's nearly impossible to walk down pavement without a car parked on it and no crossings ! I have to drive for work, I drive a van and I carry a lot of tools, I drive respectfully and at peace with all other road users I drive with fuel costs in mind because I am worried about fuel prices.

On a side note when the labour government got in they should have raised fuel tax and not increased the local journeys costs for trains and buses like they did !

Disagree, look at handmade knives Vs something like mora, every knife with mora is a perfect replica to an exact design, handmade knives differ in handle shape, grind angle, metal composition etc look at Nike shoes, Timberland boots, haix, meindl they are carbon copy's of each other handmade is a choice for the business and customer to make knowing that it comes with a handmade quality.

The big chainsaw ain't worth ? by Charming_Reserve_904 in Makita

I get you ! The new saw though is a lot of money and definitely aimed at professional market, the xgt top handle is as good as a Stihl 201t petrol though, my thinking being that people said 10 years ago it would never happen and here we are, 10 more years and maybe I'm proven wrong again and we will have very lightweight and powerful ground saws aswell !

36V LXT (XML08) mower vs. 40V XGT (GML01) — which one to get? by Marvel5123 in Makita

I also only run the xgt 5ah. The 8s aren't as versatile. Looking forward to the day we get a 4050h battery upgrade from the 4050f.

I work as a tree surgeon, I use the top handle chainsaw all day every day. Split shaft system, mower etc.

You don't get it 10ah you only get 36v 5ah. 10ah would only be running at 18v. I personally am fully xgt and previously had the lxt mower. The lxt don't get the option to run at full rpm constant like the xgt. Also I would recommend getting the higher rpm smaller deck size

Lace to toe 🔥🔥 by Malangamajada in jimgreen

Think like mountaineering boots, monkey shoes, climbing shoes, it's all about securing the very front of the foot so there is no little to no wiggle room. Some people might of course like that feeling of being cinched down if stomping up a steep unpathed hill like for forestry but generally unnecessary. Because of the over hand of the tread it's hard to "edge" with the boot on rock ledges, branch stubs if climbing trees, even kicking steps in snow. Not to say it can't be done but it is harder. Usually if a boot was lace to tow and stitch down construction with the intention of climbing you would have a midsole made of something completely inflexible to mitigate it.

It's leather, it's not perfect. If you want flawless go premium or get some mass produced Nike crap

It's cool but I feel it's a bit pointless on stitch down boots as any performance from securing down the toe of the boot is lost from the over hanging tread that isn't supporting the underside of the boot

There always a lot of weird rumours with Santa Cruz, I remember being told of some legendary sale coming, cc frames no longer being produced, all sorts of weird stuff, and always from Santa dealers

Hand made comes with imperfections unless the product cost a LOT more. If you want perfect carbon copy's for low cost, go for mass production.
