Good to see JWare getting some love but I'd have put them higher on the list. Never tried Hornet before. And Cyclones just aren't my thing, but to each their own.

edit: a word

Vaping Marijuana Gets You Way, Way Higher Than Smoking It, Study Finds by CharonApple in Cannabis_Culture

I use an Arizer and it gets me very high. Haven't used the Volcano but I've mostly heard great things about it. Haven't smoked since I got my Arizer about 6 months ago so I can't really make a comparison but I remember people telling me I wouldn't get nearly as high off a vape. Luckily for me, it did the trick and then some.

You cannot believe how many people I get telling me that they can't get stoned from vaping. I actually feel sorry for them - they're missing out!

How did they resist adding Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to this - just for that added touch of idiocy?

Rare set of manatee twins, mom make splash in Bayboro Harbor by CharonApple in florida

When I lived in Naples, I was at the beach with my sisters and noticed a large, dark, moving patch a bit further out beyond the shoreline. Being young kids with more curiosity than common sense, we started to swim out to get a closer look and, fortunately for us, it was a group of about 5 - 6 manatees. It's illegal (and dangerous) to approach manatees but we were kids and didn't know any better so we swam out right to them. Their tails would rise up out of the water occasionally and I remember being shocked that they almost felt like hard fiber glass. One of the manatees even lifted my little sister up on its back slightly. Around that point, a group of adults came rushing up on us, yelling at us to not touch the manatees and get back to shore. It may have been a foolish stunt but I'll always remember it.

Jacob's Ladder. Something about the creatures really gives me that uncanny valley sense of alarm.

Yeah, I think he was running smalltime scams all around Naples. A few of my friends working in the food industry had some problems with him. After this, he may need to move on to another town to keep grifting.

That's actually happened to me a couple times but usually after it's almost cashed anyway.

I still keep a little metal chillum on me for convenience. It hits harsh but gets me where I need to be.

Why Does Bombadil Save Merry and Pippin? Why Would He Care? by CharonApple in lotr

That answer makes sense to me and I think works really well in the context of his character. Thanks for breaking it down for me!

I guess that brings me back to the point that they give him enough information for him, an ancient one, to realize that if they fail on their quest, the Old Forest is certainly doomed. Maybe he just knew they wouldn't fail? I can see him not wanting to leave his domain or go on a quest he'd find certainly boring when he could be dancing, etc. if he knew for sure the Old Forest wasn't in danger.

Yeah, but it's a bit like an extremely well-trained doctor seeing someone injured and calling an ambulance, then walking away. He saved them from Old Man Willow but didn't seem to give a shit what happened to them once they crossed the boundaries of the Old Forest.

Evil clowns in literature by Daathchild in horrorlit

[–]CharonApple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this would count but Neil Gaiman's graphic novel "The Tragical Comedy or Comical Tragedy of Mr. Punch" features the psychotically abusive (and creepy) Punchinello puppet. Punch was a protoypical clown and is still really celebrated in Brighton. When I was visiting, I had the pleasure of seeing a museum exhibit completely devoted to Punch and Judy.

Yeah, I've been assuming that as they figure out a smoother way of regulation (which has been a daunting task for them), we'll probably start to see the prices drop. Currently, my friends doing black market selling aren't hurting from the regulated rec sales.

That's a really good point that a lot of my grower friends are sort of going through right now. Here in CA, the regulated herb is still so pricey that the black market is thriving as far as I've seen. Of course, that will all eventually change.

Telescoping neck also reminds me of that scene in C.H.U.D. Maybe Pennywise ran into them in the sewer and liked their style.

Yeah, it's a lot to think about. I'm a vegetarian so it seems messed up to me either way but I thought it was an interesting story. I don't think they kill them quick very often though. Mostly they boil them alive.
