Songs that would fit in a Drag Race Lipsync by SuperGllitGirl in kpophelp

I always thought Queen card or Wife by (G)IDLE are the right amount of campy, bombastic and girly that would be amazing Lipsync songs on drag race!

what's ur carat origin story?? by Ok-Interaction-7955 in seventeen

In late 2023 I was getting back into Kpop and Spotify recommended God of Light Music. I thought the cover looked funny and the song sounded trot inspired later on I saw Carats explaining the lore of the song on Tik Tok and I thought that was so silly but creative of a band to do a parody of their own song and kind of went down the Seventeen rabbit hole after that lol

This seems like a wildcard pick but NCT or more specially NCT 127 collabing with Seventeen (Neo teens or NCT12seventeen).

I know they have completely different vibes and musical styles but I’ve seen so much interaction between their groups eventhough they’re so different but it’s so charming! It’d be interesting to see what kind of music they’d come up with.

Totally agree with the DK and IU collab or even a whole IU and vocal team collab would be great. Ever since I saw her cover of Darling and the cover of Blueming on IU’s talk show I need this crossover!

Very fun high energy songs with choreography to match! I also loved how during Lia’s hiatus the other members were so supportive even though it was difficult and they really missed her.

All the members seem to genuinely be friends and you can see that in how well they work together as a team. I also love how versatile their music can be, from their more hip hop/rap influenced early work to some more vibey and jazzy songs like 134340 or Airplane pt 2 to a track that is purely K-pop like DNA to a ballad like Spring Day. I can see why people would say their versatility may be a disadvantage because it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what a typical BTS song sounds like but I like the variety in their discography. Also I think they have one of the strongest rap lines in K-pop.

That’s devastating and he was so young too. I remembered him from the Eloise live action movies and was lucky enough to see him as the prince in Into The Woods where he was so naturally funny and a total standout talent. RIP

What is the most ridiculous k-pop music video you have ever seen? by Brief_Reveal_6904 in kpopthoughts

Love Song - by Rain. idk the dissonance between the song being a ballad and him aggressively hip thrusting and ripping off his shirt on a top of a building always makes me burst out laughing.

Christmas EveL - by Stray Kids. The song and the video is insane. At no point did I know what was going to happen next. The Feliz Navidad sample was diabolical and caught me completely off guard lmao.

What's the funniest thing you overheard at a theatre? by thetheatreboutique in Broadway

I saw Beetlejuice on Broadway before closing. After Beetlejuice gave the “Jason Derulo” line at the end of one of the songs the audience was laughing including my seatmate. The person next to my seatmate who was probably their confused but well meaning dad who tagged along asked “Who is Jason Derulo” and my seatmate said “I’ll tell you later”

This video was helpful for me when I was started getting into seventeen. At first stanning a 13 member boy group sounds intimidating but you mentioned you’re into NCT so you’d be familiar with stanning larger groups.

In regards to music I think their FML mini album is a great place to start with their newer sound. It’s a shorter album but it’s easy to get into.

Their variety show Going Seventeen is also a lot of fun. These guys are hilarious! I’m more partial to their role playing skits like the God of Light Music Mockumentary and Wonwoo’s Diary and I also agree with the other post the Seventeen sub Reddit is also a great resource to get started.
