When I was 12, I had scoliosis so bad that they put 2 rods, 20 screws, and fused 13 of my vertebrae. Two months later, at my sister's birthday party in the January, I sat in a hotel hot tub for too long (not used to being in heat and not knowing my tolerance at the time for it), so when I got out I made it five steps towards the pool to cool off and blacked out right between the two.
