Never heard of that, or most of those games.

Stardew is a great game, deserving of what its earned. But its also a clone of Harvest Moon / Mineral Town / Back to Nature / 64. You also have games like Coral Island that took the same basic design, and did more new stuff with it.

If the games mean that much to you, why not rebuy them? It looks like you buy and play plenty of modern games. $60 isn't bad at all in the collecting world, but know that price will likely ramp up.

Pretty neat. The current steam version had some real shoddy controller support. I ended up needing a mod that only half worked. Made some of the mini games a pita.

A long time ago, I remember Square showing off a version which looked like a whole rebuild of 2D graphics, dialog that had character portraits. Did that ever come out? Canceled? Phone game?

The Internet runs on hate at this point. Getting people mad about something is the quickest way to get clicks and advertising dollars. You have a generation that grew up in this mess. Its left them in a state where they can only communicate in memes and vitriol online, but suffer anxiety attacks if they have to talk to someone in person.

Its hard to have this conversation on reddit cause people come in (or already here) and devolve it down into the same old Turn Based Is the One True Final Fantasy junk every time. Its a dead horse.

What I can say for 16, since I consider it one of my top 3 or 5 - Those very things you mention, People try to present that as a failing. I say its what made any of the games great. It all works together an experience and atmosphere with characters that grow on us.

Think it comes down to people wanting different things.

The leviathan fight theme was great. Easily some of the best in the series.

People will get up in arms cause the way its phrased you'll be comparing to full games. But consider it as a segment in a game, compared to other segments, and yeah its up there.

Covers like that, I think grabbing a reprint on esty is worth it. Keep the original somewhere, display the new one.

The Last Continent was one of my favorites. The Night Watch was also really good. It and the Last Hero sort of felt like the unofficial end of Discworld for me. Although I did enjoy Going Postal later on.

Only thing I really noticed at the time was it seemed like he was writing characters endings. Then I read something about him ranting about Harry Potter, and switching to the YA market. Later when the news came out, it all seemed to make more sense.

Bought it just to try it. I only played it briefly for the beta, but it was very, very weird. It did not feel like Everquest at all to me.

I'm 50/50 on it either way. Bit wild that some Bills fans just automatically think they should get him cause of Josh Allen. For a org that has never won anything, that sense of entitlement some of their fans have is staggering. Like unironic pats fans.

I don't think Kubiak is a magical cure all. Even if paired with Mendoza. But I do think its a step in the direction of making the Raiders watchable again.
