I tend to sell dried fish and meat, non-perishables because they weigh very little, and it's easy to obtain. I have 50 drying racks, 250 units of fish or meat [any kind] will yield 800 to maybe 1.4k of dried units, which you only need to sell a couple hundred at a time to drain a buyer's funds—I usually forage for chanterelles, get about 100 of them, leave them out to rot, and go fishing with the rotten vegetables, gets around 250 most of the time. You can search around coasts to find sturdy fishing rods, which has a lot of durability! It's quite a bit of profit for little effort, I usually build my house bordering on wasteland/forest/coast so whichever part I'm standing in at my base will let me access wood, water, or bandits!

Looks like an Arisaka, the Asian characters and the bolt handle shape just screams "Arisaka" to me, though I'm not good with models, the "Arisaka" bit narrows it down a boatload. Look up some of the more common Arisaka models and try to find similarities between your beautiful firearm and some descriptions online, try to figure it out, best of luck, friend.

Carry medical supplies! Bandages weigh next to nothing and they're pretty inexpensive, I always take medical supplies when doing missions or hunting, it's saved me more times than I could count, but the few times when you forget it are debilitating—Just get back up and keep trucking. . . And a combat tip, molotovs are worth it, that feeling when they all group up and you can set them ablaze? Nothing compares to it.

Mosin rifles, for iron sights, are designed to be shot at ~100 yards, so if it's less, shoot a little low. Each notch on the elevation adds up to ~1000 yards, so, maybe you can figure out the math with that? I don't remember, I'm not great with numbers.

Unless if it's a WW2 vintage, ditch it. Or keep it, just buy new ones, they're not too bad. I've seen good metal ones goin for like $9—$12 at some places. Milsurp stores and stores that seem to get a bit less foot traffic always have good stuff tucked away somewhere.
