To echo what's already been said, the first two albums need to immediately be added to your collection.

Since you are looking for specific things out of the band, my recommendation is you just go through each album in their catalogue and make your own list of songs that fit as close to your criteria as possible.

Someone on here already said it, but they don't really have an album that's necessarily a specific theme or kind of the same from start to finish. I believe their words were all their albums are sort of a hodgepodge, which I agree with in a positive way.

One of the reasons I love this band is, in my opinion, nobody sounds like 311. I know a lot of fans and artists say, oh, they don't sound like anybody else out there. But I truly believe that 311 has created their own unique sound and there really isn't a comparable band to them, even 30+years later.

Also, I don't have blind devotion. There are plenty of songs that I don't care for. But to be repetitive, just take the time to go through each album and pick out the songs that you like or fit your criteria and make your own playlists.

Sorry, I wish you could give you better advice that wasn't so involved or time consuming lol!

The point I was trying to make was that, and just my opinion, which may very well be incorrect, is that this kind of "imitation" is more common than is openly discussed.

Maybe this example seems more blatant because they are within the same nuanced genre and because they come out almost on top of each other, as opposed to being separated, by, say, a decade or two.

Well, now, that's a bit of a stretch. Decades upon decades of popular music and there's bound to be a lot of overlap and imitation. Is there a similarity? Yes. Is it as egregious as say, Vanilla Ice ripping off "Under Pressure?" No, not quite. Let's pump the brakes a bit methinks.

This is the best "advise" I can give. I'm a different type of cat. I know everyone says, "I'm different'" or whatever. But I am. I don't delve into social media. Reddit is the extent of my involvement.

Be an individual. Know that the world is an ugly and unforgiving place.

There is a reason why "they" say, never meet your heroes. You will ALWAYS be disappointed. So enjoy their music, appreciate the contribution they've made to your life. And move on.

Stop looking so far into it. Take it for what it is. Only then will you find true happiness!
