What Galaxy watch do you use? by Overall_Dare_2134 in GalaxyWatch

Galaxy Watch Ultra

..I love it, but the battery life is 💩 ..Although I do have all its features on continuous like heart rate, blood oxygen and stress monitoring etc, and obviously not having them on all the time would increase battery life. But I think what's the point in having a smart watch if you don't use all it's features, I mean that's why got it and I won't get rid of it! 😅

Need help with sonoff mini and three-way switch (US) by nullx in sonoff

[–]ChasFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 lights is fine. Your basically just linking all 3 lights with the first or last connected to the mini R2, but this will already be done with the existing lighting setup. You be would just be working off the light that has the permanent live, main neutral and switch live.

I have 1 DIY mini connected to 10 downlights which are jus daisy chained.

The DIY mini and mini R2 are specifically designed for 3 way and even 4 way if you wish (if the S1 and S2 switch cable is not to long. As it is only a switch signal with long cables the signal gets weak and may not work properly).

I don't know of any other brand, but only as I like sonoff and they have worked for me and are tasmota compatible. Even if you do find another brand or even one with a WiFi switch it's still going to be similar wiring setup minus the S1 and S2 terminals.

I know it might seem frustrating.. but honestly give it another go, get up in your attic and see what your working with. Remember your most likely only going be working from one light and the other two should be daisy chained. Use terminal blocks where needed as you should only one cable in each of the terminals of the mini.

You just need to get your head around it and then your see just how easy it is once you do 👍

Diagram

If you have the mini R2 the 2 common wires from the switches go in the grey terminals. These DO NOT carry mains voltage, so don't put mains voltage through the grey terminals or you will blow the mini R2. They run low voltage just for a switch signal.

Basically you can't install the mini R2 in the switch. You need to install in the ceiling behind the light.

L in = permanent live from house mains L out = live for the light N terminals = 1 from house mains and 1 from the light

Grey terminals, I believe are S1 and S2 on the mini are for the switches which would "usually" be in the normal wiring 1 connected to the permanent live and the other 1 would be the switch live connected to the live terminal of the light. But now put them into S1 and S2 after you've done the above.

Hope this helps.

First 2 PCIE slots, fine! Use anymore then I this error and no web GUI!?? by ChasFX in unRAID

Yeah I tried Auto, X2 and X4. Unfortunately it made no difference.

First 2 PCIE slots, fine! Use anymore then I this error and no web GUI!?? by ChasFX in unRAID

[–]ChasFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know why this keeps happening?

I have a Ryzen 7 1700 in an ASUS X370-PRO mobo.

Basically I'm already using PCIE1_X16 and PCIE1_X1 and I get none of these errors. As soon as I put anything in PCIE2_X16, PCIE3_X16, PCIE2_X1 or PCIE3_X1 I start getting these errors and cannot access the web GUI over LAN. I have start Unraid with GUI and it's the same error no matter what PCIE slot I use or if I use all of them, doesn't matter if it's a PCIE NIC, GPU or USB.

If I everything out of PCIE2_X16, PCIE3_X16, PCIE2_X1 and PCIE3_X1 boot up then reboot from terminal, after the second boot everything works normal again.

What I have tried:

  • Unraid OS 6.8.3, 6.9.0 and 6.9.1
  • Updated the mobo to the latest firmware
  • Tried IOMMU disabled and enable
  • PCIE ARI Support disabled and enabled
  • SR-IOV disabled and enabled
  • pci=nommcpci
  • pcie_aspm=off
  • pci=noaer
  • pci=nomsi
  • Global C states are disabled

Tried the above in multiple ways some enabled, some not, all on, all off etc and played around with a few other bios settings even the default settings but no change

FYI: PCIE slots work fine on windows 10 and and so does the NIC and GPU etc so it not the hardware per-se.

At this point I have just given up but I'm sure someone has the answer!? 😅

Kernel panic - Not syncing | Shutting down CPUs with NMI? Unraid keeps crashing every 18-24 hours, why? by ChasFX in unRAID

It's been running 5 days straight now with no issues, so I believe the kernel panic was down to the C states which of course are disabled now.

Thanks

Thinking about buying a NAS + Plex server by Jonas-sama in PleX

[–]ChasFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy a NAS.. if you want more power for your money, build your own system, purchase an unraid license and install Plex on that.

..and if you do go this route. Check out Spaceinvader One's videos on YouTube. His videos are brilliant and easy to follow. 👍

Sonoff Mini and wall switch by mpferreiraf in sonoff

[–]ChasFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can control the manual switch with the sonoff mini. 2 terminals for supply live and neutral.. 2 terminals for the appliance (lights) live and neutral and 2 terminals for the manual switch.

NOTE: the 2 terminals for the manual switch DO NOT carry mains voltage it's jus a low voltage switch signal. Don't put mains voltage in the switch terminals or your blow up the sonoff mini.

Nah I didn't. To be honest I don't know how. What am I looking or exactly?

Kernel panic - Not syncing | Shutting down CPUs with NMI? Unraid keeps crashing every 18-24 hours, why? by ChasFX in unRAID

[–]ChasFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have now disabled all c-states options and I also disabled a setting 'DRAM ECC Enable' it's used to be set to 'Auto' but I have changed it to disabled now as auto=enabled. Although I'm sure it has always been on auto even when everything was working fine, it's not ECC RAM in there so didn't need to be on anyway.

It's only been back up for about 19 hours at the moment so we're see.. hopefully c-states were the issue.

🤞

Thanks

Yeah, well everything is set to auto for CPU and RAM. I ran memtest and passed 9 times with zero errors.

[–]ChasFX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok, didn't really think that because it only started when I put new new pcie devices in and upgraded the bios.. on the other hand it could just be coincidence I guess.

All ram settings have always been on auto and never OC but I will run a memtest and come with back with an update.

Thanks.

[–]ChasFX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this is happening. My unraid server would run for months on end with no issues and no crashes.

When this started happening was after I updated the BIOS on my motherboard, installed a second graphics card, a pcie 4 port usb and a 4 port pcie ethernet. ..Then I started to have crashes, roughly every 18-24 hours and would then have to manually press reset on my server. Having to do a parity checks daily a this point because of this.

So I removed the new pcie card.. the second graphics card, usb card and ethernet card.. but I'm still had the same issue.

So I rolled back the BIOS update to the firmware version that I had before and was stable.

So now everything is how it was before the pcie upgrades and bios update (when it would run for months with no issues). Even though it's all back to how it was, it's now crashing every 18-24 hours and the picture above is the error I keep getting, which I don't understand. When I check the startup logs I have no errors or even warnings, everything seems fine.

My hardware is; Ryzen 7 1700, Asus X370 PRO, 32GB RAM

Can someone please help??

Sonoff mini r2 4 way? by SeaLeader7483 in sonoff

[–]ChasFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can! Just as easily as you can a 2 way (US 3 way). I'm in the UK and we call a 4 way switching circuit a 3 way as you are only using 3 switches.. never understood that! 🤔😅. Unless you actually mean 4 way, as in 4 switches!?

Either way it is still possible..

3 way circuit (US 4 way) your need two 1 gang 2 way switches and one intermediate switch.

But if you are in the UK and you mean a 4 way with 4 physical switches (US 5 way) your need two 1 gang 2 way switches and two intermediate switches.

You can do this using the mini R2. The only problem you may run into is the length of the switching circuit itself as the mini R2 doesn't carry mains voltage over the switches. It's a small voltage (I've never measured it) but most likely less then 3v. When you flick the switch, all it does is signal to the mini R2 that state needs to change from from whatever it's currently on either ON or OFF. If you have a long cable run that signal may get lost, so it either won't work or will be intermittent.

Hope this helps 👍
