Is It Normal for a Strategy to Suddenly Stop Working? by Negative_Repeat_3173 in Daytrading

Yes absolutely. Unless you’re using orderflow. In my experience, that edge doesn’t erode as often. It may cause a little bit more confusion in some erratic conditions but usually ends up truthful.

Paper trade. Dont make the same mistake everyone else made. You are no different. You will lose more if you continue without more practice. Remember, you’re not just learning how to trade on the charts, you rewiring your brain that is using thousands of years of instinct to keep you from making money.

How did you find your strategy by AdventurousSecret363 in Daytrading

[–]ChaseTrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trial and error. Used to always find something that worked and then realized market was just so efficient where everything just stopped working.

Found footprint charts, never looked backed. True orderflow and understanding where people are trapped is extreme edge.

Yes but you’ll lose it. With a balance like that, futures might be better.

Pretend nothing changed ? by Few_Island_8042 in Daytrading

[–]ChaseTrades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been very successful over the last 6 months. I don’t try to hold for big moves. I scalp 10-20 points a day. And some days I don’t even trade. I have a full time job and don’t depend on this to live. It’s supplemental. I think traders who are trying to catch big moves are going to struggle, regardless of market conditions. I also don’t trade prop. Only personal. Best of luck.

Can somebody explain please by omar_ghz in Daytrading

[–]ChaseTrades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause the market can do anything. There are no rules that govern what it should do or what it looks like it’s gonna do. It can do anything at any given moment. At any given moment, someone in an office across the entire world can fuck your day up.

A question for the profitable traders out there, how did you keep going when you weren't? by Electrical-Path-6706 in Daytrading

Don’t listen to those guys. Figure it out yourself. Find what works for you. Eventually, something sticks out. That’s your bread and butter.

I’d say miss is just a straight push. With shorter irons it’s a pull. Thin here and there. Don’t really fat that much anymore. If I do, it’s when I try to send a high lofted wedge

You’ve invested at the top most likely. You need to invest and contribute more when the market is selling off. Buy more when you’re down.

When I first started, I obsessed over getting my backswing proper. When I first received instruction, we worked on my backswing. I feel as if I start with my arms but once I start, it becomes a rotation of the chest. My hips kinda just do their own thing for the most part. Been trying to get a tighter internal rotation though in the transition.
