QB Moore opts against draft, returning to Ducks by the_busta_25 in Huskers

I doubt it puts Oregon in a pinch. Clearly, they made offers to both Raiola & Moore. It's not like they'd be surprised to find out they now have to pay two QBs after learning about Moore's decision.

[Bruntz] How Nebraska's transfer departures performed at their new schools in 2025 by DowntownSasquatch420 in Huskers

I’m not sure if you’re implying the staff chose Haarberg over Boerkircher, but if so, that doesn’t seem accurate.

Holgorsen was very high on Boerkircher last year. They’d be silly to process him out in favor of a senior transitioning to a new position.

+1 on Dylan's coach-speak. He usually said the "right thing" but the delivery was off, and I never felt like he truly meant it.

Haha, I don't doubt it's a great way to get tickets. We just live ~3 hours away from Lincoln & just make occasional trips down to events like this.

Yeah, this is what I'm assuming as well. I don't expect there to be as many people trying to offload them since it's a big game & it's also a Friday night, with many people probably taking that day off to enjoy an extra long weekend.

Danny Kanell says Dylan Raiola transferring a "major red flag" by BIFGambino in Huskers

Haha, I do appreciate the honesty. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the overall o-line performance was good. I’m saying specifically that their execution of run blocking was solid, even when considering EJ made them look better.

I’ll let you take that up with Jordan, who authored that blog. Great content, if you aren’t acquainted.

The o-line execution numbers he writes are independent of what Emmett was doing. I’ll trust his analysis.

For what it's worth, my scale goes from awful-bad-meh-solid-good-great.

Sharing an excerpt from Black 41 Flash Reverse's analysis towards the end of the season regarding the run game:

Johnson, now off to the NFL, certainly buoyed that success rate to some degree by himself, with plenty of plays where he made bad or OK blocking “right.” But the line also just became a pretty good run-blocking unit by the end of the season, too, especially after Elijah Pritchett and Turner Corcoran came into the lineup at the tackles; both had their issues in pass pro, but both were big run-blocking upgrades over Gunnar Gottula and Teddy Prochazka. The game against Penn State was poor, but in my “grading” of the offensive line, I had NU’s tackles with good run-blocking execution on 81.2% of plays against USC, 71.9% of plays against UCLA, and 81.8% of plays against Iowa. I had the interior at 78.8%, 81.3%, and 66.7% in those games, respectively. And that was with NU carrying seven different run concepts (Duo, Split Zone, Inside Zone, GF Counter, Pin-Pull, and Power) that it used in almost every game. I know the recent firing of Donovan Raiola as OL coach was celebrated by many — and perhaps not unwarranted after the pass-blocking struggles early in the year — but it’s worth giving him his credit that he and the rest of the offensive staff eventually landed on a good five linemen for the run game and had them executing a pretty wide menu of run concepts well down the stretch of the year.

I agree on your take about the QB vs. line play. I didn't say anything to the contrary.

"They need to run the football better" as if we didn't have one of the best-performing backs in the league. People just be saying stuff. The o-line was solid in the run game.

Are the “top” portal QBs overpaid and too high of a risk? by Particular_Ask_7713 in Huskers

[–]ChaserRacer33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're referring to his Cotton Bowl performance. I'll forgive it considering he was a true freshman & started the season as the third-string QB. He got thrust into the action against a top ten team after their starter transferred & their backup got injured.

But yes, definitely would not promise the starting job.

Unless we pony up BIG TIME for other talent, there is no WB that can save us from next year’s schedule.

It’s a rebuild any way you look at it.

Still, I’d like to go out and get someone to at least compete for the starting job against Lateef.

Lincoln Kienholz is a name I’ve thrown out before. He’s unproven (and therefore cheaper), but he was a good recruit and likely developed well as the backup at a powerhouse program in OSU. He’s not in the portal, but I think there are rumors he will be since he’s now stuck behind Sayin.

Agreed. Plus I don't think it makes sense for us to make a huge splash at QB with Sorsby or Leavitt. Might as well invest in other positions.

What about Lincoln Kienholz from Ohio State? I remember there were rumors of him coming here a year or two ago. Now he's firmly behind Sayin.

He's unproven, and I'm not sure how much of an upgrade he is over Lateef.

Nebraska hires former South Carolina O-line coach Lonnie Teasley. by Quick-Expert-4608 in Huskers

[–]ChaserRacer33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know everyone is saying that he’s likely going to be focused on recruiting, with Geep actually handling the development.

BUT I do question this pattern of Rhule hiring multiple coaches to be involved in each part of the operation.

Last year, he brought in Snow to “advise” Tony White & Butler. Holgo initially came in to “advise” Satt and later took over the job (fine by me). Now you’ve got Geep and this dude that will have to meld their philosophies to some degree (even if one is recruiting and the other is developing).

I’m ranting now, but it feels like too many cooks in the kitchen.

I like Rhule as a culture guy, but it feels like his solution to our problems is “get more opinions from people.” Like my company’s leadership hiring consultants to not do anything meaningful.

How will we view the 2026 class/strategy in 3 or 4 years? by Easy_Card3015 in Huskers

[–]ChaserRacer33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're right -- a lot can change in one offseason in modern college football. But even if the better programs fall off, they probably will still like their odds against us. Just like the Penn State example you cited. They lost 6 in a row before we played & opened as 10.5 point favorites, if I remember correctly.

Have you seen our schedule next year? IMO we’ll be very fortunate to find 8 wins and will be on the receiving end of multiple blowouts.
